Story: Pretty much all filler. Each episode stands alone except the ending and they don't really play off of each other. The series strays way too far from the Manga and doesn't explore the main parts where you see many characters develop themselves. I understand that the Manga has stories that end in one chapter and expansion is necessary to make the Anime but they could've handled it better. A similar style to the beginning of Full Metal Panic Fumoffu would've been cool where there were two stories split between an episode. Since chapters for To-Love-Ru are short, that would've been a great direction for this show to take. However, this show's filler made me feel incredibly bored as most of the stories weren't even adapted from the Manga. They were original stories. Only some of the episodes were based off the Manga. The ending was disappointing but you can predict that it'll go nowhere anyway. A predictable "plot" and being composed of mostly ecchi scenes gets it a 5. I'll admit that a few of the episodes, maybe five of them, I really liked, thought they were well done, and made me laugh a bit.
Art: Better than I expected for a series like this. It was pretty consistent for each episode. Nothing looked too horrible to me.
Sound: Nothing in the bgm caught my attention and the opening was just okay. As for the voice acting, I didn't really have a problem with anyone. No one was extremely annoying to listen to. They did a pretty good job here.
Character: I did enjoy watching some of the characters but a lot of them seemed neglected and didn't get much screen time, which kind of disappointed me. I know they're side characters but if they're going to show up more than a few times, make them do more than "Oops, you can see my panties" or accidentally get naked. I suppose in the end, I shouldn't expect more than that in a series like this.
Enjoyment: I finished it. That's a sign that I didn't completely hate it. Most of the episodes made me want to punch my screen though. They were that awful and stupid. So be careful with it. It's supposed to be comedy as well but it didn't spark too much laughter from me. I wouldn't say that they're trying too hard or anything like that. It's just that most of the pervy jokes, accidents and misunderstandings are things we've seen before.
Overall: I wouldn't mind a second series since they have more material to pull from and I enjoyed the Manga. It would be great to see certain stories animated. I just did not like how this turned out because despite the Manga being mostly stand alone stories, the creators of this show felt the need to make their own plots for many episodes... Would I recommend this to anyone? Not really since I can basically describe this as generic. It's nothing outstanding and there's a lot of "typicalness" to it. If anything, for those new to Anime it might just be their first ecchi comedy because if you start watching Anime, you'll run into these somewhere along the line unless you're very selective and careful.
Thank you for reading my review. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Hope this helped. read more
To Love Ru is your typical fanservice fare. If you've seen any anime, you've seen To Love Ru.
If you scanned through a 1970s edition of Playboy that has been weather beaten (as well as beaten in other ways), you've seen To Love Ru. If you ever stopped to wipe your ass and look into the toilet bowl to see what's inside it after a dump, you've seen To Love Ru.
Typical big-boobied art colourful enough to distract anyone that is capable of one brain function at a time. Le sigh.
The characters are frustrating and retarded and it makes me wonder if they drool while they tie their shoelaces in the morning. But silly me--here I go assuming the cast of this moronic anime can tie their shoes with any measure of success! I just wanted to send all the girls back to school so they could learn how to spell or, I dunno, blink and talk at the same time or something.
This was complete balls but not the good kind of balls that I like. Mostly the horrid kinds. I would recommend it to a handful of the MAL population to watch, since this anime seems like punishment enough for them.
As some closing words for this review and some hope for the future of anime:
New To Love Ru when?? Never!
And that's a good thing. read more
Well.. Where do I start.. Hmmmm
Well I watched this series due to a suggestion in the recommendations of Rosario + Vampire.. Although the shows are both somewhat similar.. I expected a bit more out of the series.
Let me start with this.. there are to me.. two seasons to this series basically..and the second series starts somewhere around episode 14.. but.. too be quite honest in my opinion.. Episodes 18-24 are basically OVAs that are stuffed in.. I mean.. There is the story of Kyoto the Fire Girl..a entire episode about a show Lala and Rito watch on television.. which had absolutely nothing to do with anything.. There is an episode (23) that is adapted to Japanese folk tales which is really neat and informative.. but it has absolutely nothing to do with the storyline..
The first episodes though.. 1-10 kept me well entertained.. and I laughed alot.. and the art is done really well.. and of course.. the fanservice is about the only thing that kept me interested enough to watch it.. the girls are very busty.. and very beautiful.. lol.. its hard not to enjoy Lala .. because shes buxom and clueless most of the time.. I liked most of the characters in this.. I didnt find any I didnt really care for much.
The OP and the ED are decent.. they sort of fit the general feel of the show.. if you like ecchi.. youll love the OP .. lol.. indeed..
So let me warn you with this in closing.. if you dont like fanservice/ecchi ..pass this up.. because its the only thing that keeps this series somewhat afloat.. due to the fact that its so accessive it makes you giggle a bit..
Would I suggest this anime? .... Yes... but to someone who just wants to watch something maybe as a change of pace or a break from a anime they just watched with a really deep storyline.. or if you just want to see alot of half naked girls with a couple laughs lol.
Thank you for reading! read more
This is just mindless, fun entertainment.
Alright so the story of To Love Ru is about a boy name Yuuki Rito who gropes a pink-haired alien name Lala who is the princess of Deviluke. After trying to confess his feelings to a girl, Haruna Sairenji, he accidentally confesses to Lala and says to him "Lets get married". From there on Rito tries to get out of the relationship with Lala, but has other things in his way that actually makes him closer to her. The plot does get more of a serious tone towards the end of the anime, but overall it's just a fun anime.
My favorite character in this show is without a doubt Lala. She is one of my all time favorite female characters. I don't know why but I like characters like her. This charismatic, upbeat, joyful personality and always having a positive outlook no matter how bad the situation. Even though Rito accidentally "proposed" to her. Lala loves Rito with all her heart and you can see in the show that she is devoted to him. Speaking of Rito he is a clumsy pervert. Literally think of every way to accidentally cop a feel and he does it. He doesn't like to think of himself as a pervert he just is really clumsy. And yes that is a running gag in this show. I also like that unlike other harem male leads, Rito doesn't want a harem he just gets tangled up into one.
The comedy in my opinion is pretty funny. Even though some people can get irritated with running gags, but I just love them.
Do I think To Love Ru is great. No. In all honesty the story is pretty stupid, but is it funny and entertaining Yes. I think this show is very good, has likable characters, nice music and voice acting. If you don't like ecchi anime then you're going to dislike this show. Overall I say give it a watch. read more
-Both shows has a alien girl who loves the male protaganist
-Alot of comedy, parody, and development of romance
-To Love-Ru contains abit more fanservice then Haiyore! Nyaruko-san
- Alien girl sudden appearance
- Main male have some similar characteristic
Both the anime To Love-Ru and Haiyore Nyaruko-San ,Fearture the Main
Protagonist Meeting A Female Alien In a unique Way, Also both Series Features
Showing the Main Protagonist Ended Living together With a Female Alien and in
the Process Also Meeting Other Alien Characters
Both series have a peculiar but cheerful alien from another planet fall in love with the protagonist at first sight.
Both series features the parody and humor like theme with a main protagonist in strange situations.
An main "alien" girl is present in both series and there is a lot of humor involving the characters in every day situations.
There is romance but presented in a humorous way. Watch both series if you're in a mood for some humor and entertainment.
An alien girl falls in love at first sight with the male lead and freeloads at his house.
The characteristics of the male and female leads are very similar as well.
To LOVE-Ru... Its a perfect recommendation for Haiyore! Nyaruko-san.
Why you ask?
... The insane amount of ecchi,
... The alien thing. Basically aliens come and get to know the main character right? Yes.
... Powers, amazing powers.l
... Ecchi enemies
Yes, To LOVE-Ru and Haiyore! Nyaruko-san are both niccccceee. ^.~
Both series have an a cute girl who happens to be an alien from outerspace. Both the main female leads are cheerful, happy, funny, and always makes the situation more exciting. They both also try to develop their relationship with the male lead and wants him to like her.
The male lead of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san thinks of the female heroine to be annoying and avoids her advances but soon starts to develop romantic feelings for her later in the series.
The show has a lot of comedy, parody, and development of romance. If you like cute alien girls then this show is meant to be for you.
P.S- Rie Kugimiya the voice actor for Louise ( The Familiar of Zero ) , Taiga ( Toradora ) , Shana ( Shakugan no Shana ) is also a voice actor for one of the other heroines in Haiyore! Nyaruko-san.
Both series have a strong alien female and a weak guy who wants nothing to do with her and both guys get into constant trouble because of them.
both have wimp guy who is good for nothing still girls like him>
both have the same girl that comes from space>
to love-ru is more echhi >>this one more comdey
The scenario is similar where you have a beautiful alien girl pop out of nowhere, falling in love with the main character, only to be rejected. But she doesn't give up and tries her hardest to win his love.
Full of comedy, more beautiful alien girls and embarrassing moments.
To Love Ru has more episodes (26), and fan service compared to Haiyore Nyaruko-san.
Love, Love and Comedy, this is what you should expect from this. Both of them have a beautiful girl from space with advanced technologies and a clumsy, idiot(when it comes to love), weakling protagonist. But Haiyore Nyaruko-san is much more funnier than To love Ru because of it's Parody genre. I'm sure you'll have fun, enjoy and fall in love too in these anime.
a girl from space come into the main males life and is totally infatuated with him
Protects him from all sorts of trouble
they both have ecchi elements To-Love Ru is way more ecchi though
both have some romance though the romance in Haiyore is more comical
they cause the main character lots of despair and drive them crazy
- Both have an MC with love interests flocking him
- Both have a main girl character who have similar personalities/aggressively pursue MC
- To LOVE-Ru is more ecchi/romantic
- To LOVE-Ru's MC is more flexible and accepting
- To LOVE-Ru has more love interests and is basically the ultimate harem
Both are pure service anime made for your amusement. Yes, there is harem as well as overly jiggly boobs. If you liked Rosario+Vampire, then you'll love Tu-LOVE-Ru, or otherwise. The female lead role both have lovely pink hair.
Same kind of harem comedy with a lot of ecchi and fanservice in it but absolutely nothing that can be considered story that took more then 5 minute to think of.
Both also havea pink haired female lead character.
So if you can enjoy one of them you'll probably also like the other.
They are both heavily ecchi oriented and with a bit of comedy added in. Both of the series focused more on the fanservice than on the story, which made the story very thin. They also have a pink haired female lead character.
They both have people fighting over the same person.Well in these cases, they have a group of high school girls fighting over one boy. They are both very funny, good story lines, and have really good endings. They dont just suddenly end like some others do. :>
Moka-san's legendary vampire transformations and Lala's costume "dressforms" are similar, they both have pink hair and their personalities match.
You like stories that started from a "fated encounter" one day? Then look no further than this two harem, comedy, romance, and school setting centered series. The male protagonist of both series has this kind of encounter that changed their life forever. The main difference though is the scenario, one is that of a supernatural encounter and the other is an extraterrestrial-life encounter.
Both have weak male leads but they both have a harem full of supernatural girls who fell in love with the protagonist as the story goes on.
Most of the girls in both these anime are not human and are from another area. The male protagonist are human and find themselves in a situation they are unable to get out of. The girls he meet are totally kawaii and it seems the male protagonist reached far within their heart in order for them fall in LOVE HIM WITH ALL THEIR MIGHT. The difference is the location they take place in.
• Both anime have jiggly boobs. ♥
• Both female lead have lovely pink hair!
• Both are harem.
To love-Ru (one of my top 3) is a story about a kid named Rito Yuuki who is desperately in love with haruna sairenji, later on in the first episode (spoiler) a girl named Lala from the planet deviluke teleports into his bath unexpectedly. now the similarities in these two shows comes down to a very fine line. both of the shows take place in highschool and in both shows the people (other then the main character) are aliens/monsters. both of these shows revolve around a shy, inept main character that doesn't know how to make up his mind to even save his life. i highly recommend watching To Love-Ru if you haven't already.
Both have Harlems and good plots echie which is allways is a plus thay have there funny moments and all around good even if u never heard of thes titles please give them a try u just might like them
The main male character in these series got off in a weird start when he met a girl with some strange characteristics. Similar wise, the female character has a characteristics of a pink hair, innocent, and somewhat lovable personality and a school filled with comedy moments. The male character, at first felt confused and frightened, but soon will get used later on. Expect some romance, and some supernatural elements on the story.
The lead, Tsukune and Rito that is, are both shy and kind. Both animes are harem, and they both have the female lead, lala and moka that is, to be a sweet, emotional and optimistic girl with long pink hair and green eyes. Their both kind of the fantasy, romance, comedy, school, shounen and of course ecchi genre. I think they both have a good story line/plot, but not the best.. at least they're not predictable. ^^ I love both of these animes especially: "rosario + vampire" but that's just my opinion. i hope you can use this for anything, sincerely Mikkel M.C.F. ^^
Both about a guy who is forced into a marriage through a series of crazt events, and both are really funny with lots of comedy and cute girls as lead characters ;3
Same crazy setting where main character is stuck with an option of marrying (engaged) another girl or experience destruction. (...)
it is almost the same in both stories there is a guy who find himself forced to marry a girl that he just met...
Seto no Hanayome is a MUCH better version of To-Love Ru. Both shows got similar theme, having the male protagonist get into a marriage that they know nothing about at first. Definitely will make you laugh like no tomorrow.
Guy is forced to marry a girl that he doesn't know. Girls are a little "strange" - San is a mermaid, Lala is an alien
Both are harems so obviously their are going to be crushes other than the main characters. In To-Love Ru Yukki was forced to be engaged after touching Lala's chest. In Seto, after seeing a mermaid's true form Nagasumi has to choose either marriage or death. Similar stories but Seto no Hanayome is WAYYY funnier.
Both involve a boy in school who get's unwillingly married to a girl who is not human. Both are full of humor and while To-Love-Ru is more provocative, Seto no Hanayome is just as good. To-Love-Ru revolves around aliens and Seto no Hanayome revolves around mermaids.
Very similar. Both series are about a school guy who's going to get married with the girl who is not really human. Extremely funny.
both deal with forced marriage
- Both anime main heroes meet non-human girls and are forced to marry them.
- Both need to deal with girl's families which are more or less hostile to them,
- Both anime are good comedies with CRAZY sense of humour.
Very similar: a magical girl - a mermaid, Fiancés stuffs and rivals
The beginning episodes presented new characters.
The main protagonist are far unlucky.
Both are harem anime with a huge focus on comedy and both anime have a fairly serious last 2 episodes. Both anime involve a forced engagement between a human and another species:
-In To Love Ru the protagonist is forced into an engagement with an alien princess
-In Seto No Hanayome the protagonist is forced into an engagement with the heiress of a gang of mermaid Yakuza
Very close, both of them have aliens and a lot of ecchi moments with a bit of action.
Both anime are echhi/harem with the basic premise of normal high school male living (by chance) with beutifull alien female. With a lot of gadzets.
They're both harem series with multiple types of girls liking the protagonist, who is very unaware of the situaion. Besides that, both of the main character girls are from space, big chested, wear tight space suits and have small helper(s). Both series have ALOT of fanservice as well as a somewhat similar art and story.
Both animes have a female alien coming from out of outer space witch stays with the main protagonist. They also both have amazing technology.
Sample Plot Same Genre Same Alien female main Character
they got 90% same like alien that comes from some were
the alien girl always sleeping on the male protagonist bedroom while naked
plenty of girls (harem)
same they love the male protagonist
same Plot ,
also same Alien Female main Character Boobsy , Tall , Foreign Like , No shamless while naked or doing ecchi things
A cute, flirty alien girl with a tail meets the male protagonist, with a tendency to whip out random alien gadgets. The main protagonist has a harem. If you like one, you'll like the other. Ecchi-comedy.
Its very very very similar , both have alien dropping by on the Earth and Staying in a Boys house , even sleeps together xD . they have same atmosphere and the main girl characters have tails xD .
Sudden alien / girlfriend appearance. Multiple girls that like the same guy, some of which are childhood friends.
It's like watching the same anime twice, a beautiful alien appears in both, and of course, falls in love with the main character, but maybe "To Love-Ru" is a bit more childish than "Asobi ni Iku yo", but both are pure awesome, if you liked "To Love-Ru", you will definitely like this as well.
Alien girl just randomly pops out in MCs life followed by more alien and normal girls. Both are harem ecchi comedy. Both main heroines lacks common sense a bit.
In both, MC likes a certain girl and that girl likes him back (for similar reasons too), but is (sort of) forced into a relationship with another girl.... Circumstances are pretty similar in both.
The difference here is that Nisekoi is not ecchi nor supernatural.
-MC's that are very reserved with women
-Both have the same "base" story --new outgoing girl shows up in MC's life and becomes something like a pseudo-girlfriend
-Both Stories use the same tactic to advance the "PLOT"
-Both MC's are obsessed with a plain reserved girl
Difference: To LOVE-Ru is ecchi and Nisekoi isn't ....pretty much the same story otherwise
In these two anime, multiple girls fall in love with the same guy, and because of similar circumstances, the lead guy starts a relationship with a girl other than his crush from high school. Also, these are love comedies, where the main guy gets into funny situations with the female characters.
it's the same show
1. The Mc has a crush
2. The crush has a crush on the mc
3. They are to shy to confess
4. A new girl shows up
5. and it's a harem
well to love ru has more ecchi
They are literally the EXACT same anime, except To LOVE-Ru is ecchi, and is just short of turning into hentai the longer it goes on.. Really the only difference is Chitoge is tsundere while Lala is pretty straight forward with her feelings.
Due to unwanted circumstances, the main guy is in an official relationship with the main girl even though he and another girl like each other but never manage to confess.
And since it's a harem, throw in tons of other girls with varying personalities and have everyone mess around each episode.
Both about a guy who is forced into a relationship through a series of crazt events, and both are really funny with lots of comedy and cute girls as lead characters. But in Nisekoi this relationship is "fake".
Raku=Rito ? sure, haremness
Chitoge=Lala ? the diffrence just in the personality
kosaki=haruna ? they are same all the way
raku-kosaki/rito-haruna are falling in love with each other and chitoge/lala came and broke it
but, to love ru is too dangerous for -17 :v
Both animes have a female alien coming from out of outer space witch stays with the main protagonist. They also both have amazing technology.
It seems that both animes copied each other. Both anime containing a main character who has big boobs, is from outer space, and live to make the main male character happy, only to ruin his life. Also, the main male characters in both animes can be described as indecisive and extremely ignorant, which sometimes makes you think "why are you even with him?" Bottom line they are harems, sexy, and funny.
Similar origin of female protagonists. Both have super powers to grant wishes of male protagonists. Both are ecchi series.
In both animes, you can find one (super lucky?) man surrounded by alien beauties. Though there are some differences in the main male character personalities, both series have harem-based plot with some ecchi scenes as bonuses.
Very similar Ecchi and Harem series. Both have an indecisive main character (Tomoki / Rito). Both have a busty girl who comes to "ruin" their lives (Ikaros / Lala), and both fall in love with the main character. Both series mix "religious" and supernatural thematic (Angeloid= Angel Droid / Deviluke= Devil Alien). Both series involves a conflict against an evil powerful leader (Master of Synapse / Gid Lucion Deviluke), who wants back to the main female character in her respective place of origin.
To me, both series are perfect for a crossover.
-Guy who meets girls from an another planet
This is pretty much the same. fill up episodes lots of ecchi. female alien comes to earth and starting an harem. boy is Perverted and has a lot of different friends with different interests. Pretty much these two animes are Twins
