I mostly watch it cuz of characters and the magic but it has a somewhat interesting plot
just wish it had a second season.

I am not quite satisfied of my write-up about NouCome to this day but at the time I felt the series deserved at least one truly negative review. To be fair it's more like a 2/10...

Another isn't a horror. It's a thriller. If it were in fact a horror I would not have have expected much to begin with in terms of character development. Only a select few horror movies actually incorporate character depth hence why horror isn't exactly viewed as the one of the most outstanding, deeper genres. But like I said, this Another is a thriller (with the exception of the terrible ending).

The problem is that Another resorted to actually doing this rather than having an interesting, mysterious story. Having 'meat" to get slaughtered is a cheap antic used in cheesy horror flicks. There was no need to incorporate cheap deaths nor a cheap ending. Also, Another is a thriller. The whole 'Final Destination' ending was horrendous. It butchered what could have been a decent thriller series (pun intended).

Since there's no point in arguing further, given that you won't change your view and neither shall I, we can both agree that we had different opinions about Another. You may have enjoyed it. That's fine. A lot of people enjoyed it. When I watch anime or write reviews I look at the whole picture rather than simply enjoyment. From an objective standpoint Another wasn't good. It was fair and thus I rated it such.

The ending was extremely insulting. It hurt my brain to watch those last two episodes. What happened to all the mystery and suspense? Apparently it didn't matter any more. Let's just finish this series by killing tons of students who have been irrelevant for the whole series. Genius.

Even if the series didn't have a train wreck of an ending it would still have only been a 7 for me. It's undeniable that there is pretty much no character development, characters are bland and seem unhuman with the exception of wanting to selfishly preserve their own lives. Personally, I don't think I underscore the series at all. Not trying to undermine your comment or criticism, but it's not necessarily my score that's bad. A 6, based off of the actual scoring system via MAL, is supposed to be a slightly positive rating; people simply have a tendency to skew their scores from the 5-10 spectrum with 5 being bad and 10 being amazing.
