The only people in India having multiple babies are usually the ones who can't afford to raise them and give them a good childhood - poor/uneducated people.
I'm not much into the idol industry, but if you mean the Korean/Japanese ones specifically, I'm aware of not only how exploitative and inhumane their contracts are, but how most of these groups are essentially prostitution rings catering to the rich, older men in their societies. Not even the children are spared. I don't remember her name but there's this child artist here whose mother gave her those hormone injections and now even though she's 16, she looks like she's 20. And her mother parades her around creepy 30 yr old men in the hopes of making her daughter famous. Our very own Bollywood is notorious for such mothers, including those of Karishma, Neetu, Sridevi, Priyanka, Kriti and Madhuri. Their mothers would control not only which outfits their daughters would wear, but also which producers and actors they should sleep with in order to get "better" roles. Neetu and Sri were literal kids when they were pushed into prostitution by their own mothers.
You know, we crib about how garbage Hindi music is but honestly? Korean songs are the ones that are increasingly recycling popular songs across the globe and selling it to a younger audience. And it works, bc the average person has the taste of, well, idk? They have garbage taste. I'm not particular about the artist or their country when it comes to listening to music. Anything is good, so long as I enjoy it.
I've read about those Blinkit/Zepto incidents. Now I only order what's essential or not available nearby. I do not order vegetables or similar open foods bc I know the conditions in which these items are kept. They make our drainage water look like filter water.
I'm aware of what patriarchy is. My "not really" was in response to your "free time" argument.
Marriages are the worst thing to happen to women (excluding crimes, of course). They are the most socially acceptable way to make slaves out of women, but I'm glad I'm reading about more and more women walking out of their marriages and even from the mandap bc their men behaved poorly. I'm a strong proponent of the 4B movement.
I think BL from Japan, BTS from Korea or even Taylor Swift from America are excellent examples of how, when targeted correctly, the female consumer base still remains an untapped financially viable consumer base. Yes, I've been exposed to how companies fool consumers, so I've been more careful with my spending for the past several years. I think maybe 90% of my shopping is now online, where I get products at 20%-60% less than the MRP. Honestly, buying anything online is way cheaper than purchasing it via a brick and mortar shop. And it's convenient, esp for people like my mother. Unke liye Blinkit and Flipkart groceries se hi saara samaan aata hai.
Not really. It's because women were always kept financially dependent on men. They'd only get money for household work, and sometimes for spending on themselves (clothes and makeup). Any other expenses are always deemed as useless, and seeing how men actively discourage women to have a life outside of them being wives, it's not surprising that the modern romance and BL genres were lifted by younger fangirls. It's the older/married women who got into them later on. The fact that several shows have gay-bait characters is a good indicator of how production companies are going out of their way to ensure their shows have a solid female fanbase. Especially if it's a sports related anime. Let's not forget that Haikyuu wouldn't be where it is today if it wasn't for all those BL fangirls.
I never implied the edits were a new thing. Tumblr and AO3 used to be the epicenter of BL ships, especially of heterosexual characters bc back then we rarely had any BL content, leave alone good content. Today's fangirls are really spoiled for choices. But that's a good thing bc it simply proves how girls are an important market for publications and producers (but not as important as the male market)
Mobile MAL definitely sucks, esp when you click on com-to-com, only to find out that transfers you to the desktop version of the website and all the text instantly be omes too small to read. Inconvenient to type a response as well.
I'm actually happy with so many Indian BL fangirls coming out in the open. I'm sure you must have seen all those Korean/Thai edits where they keep shipping male characters together.
WhatsApp and Discord are for instant messaging, and since I like not being rushed into responding to comments, I prefer MAL. Here, it's okay to take a few days (and sometimes, even a few weeks) to respond to messages. That works perfectly for me.
Oh. How many people from MAL have you shifted to Discord and your DMs?
Also, I love how Indian girls are creating more and more Yaoi content. Never thought I'd live to see the day where such reels are being made

How come you're not talking to other people on MAL?
Yes, agreed. You can still get shit done at the Central level but when it comes to the State level, everything is just so fucking corrupt that it genuinely disheartens you that you're a tiny cog that is a part of a huge and almost entirely corrupt, machinery.
correct paperwork to pass through without taking bribes for it.
How many days off did you get? Did you go home?
How was your Holi?
I think I once checked how someone and I had rated the same BL manga. Our scores were vastly different, which confused me because our affinity % was pretty high. Well, whatever. That score is just an indicator anyway. You should take it as seriously as the tags on MAL.
So, below that 70 you'll see a percentage. I read the 9 as 0 and assumed it was 30%, when it was 39%
So what does an overlap for your manga mean when you aren't comparing it to someone else's statistics?
