OreImo Episode 2 Leaked on Torrent

Anime News Network admitted that 720p quality version of Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai episode 2 was leaked on torrent file sharing. It's been pointed out that viewers of ANN streaming could easily access to the episode 2 by changing the URL of episode 1 (replacing "01" with "02").

Too bad to hear the news...but was it good for us...?? The subs came out here a week after the 1st episode so I guess fansubbers didn't pick it up????

Well, they finally admitted that episode 2's leak came from them. From the sounds of their response, they might not even sub the show anymore. I guess the creators weren't too happy about the leak.

On October 9th the second episode of Oreimo was downloaded from Anime News Network's contracted content delivery network when security measures believed to be in place on our video server failed and were unlawfully circumvented. Anime News Network assumes all responsibility for these failures and emphatically confirms that Aniplex and its partners in Japan were in no way responsible for this occurrence.

Anime News Network would like to apologize to all of the fans of Oreimo in North America and Japan for the disappointment caused by this unfortunate situation.

As of this time all simulcasting on Anime News Network Oreimo and togainu no chi ~Bloody Curs~ will be suspended indefinitely while we continue to investigate this breach and correct the security lapses that allowed it to occur. At this time it remains unclear if, or when the simulcasts will resume. Anime News Network will issue a full refund to all our members that purchased a premium streaming account for Oreimo or togainu no chi ~Bloody Curs~.

direct advertising.....from sony of all people....interesting.

as for the leak....they might be nice, but in the long run it just angers the producers and ruins the communities etc... more reason to wage war against torrents. torrenting is pretty much a fact of live, but we don't want it to come to the foreground.

I just want to know why this anime is getting more crap than Yosuga no Sora O_o Piracy vs. Twincest? I think Twincest is a liiiiitle (lot) more appropriate to hate upon.

Well i'm starting to love this anime, I mean, this is the first time I watched an anime with an Otaku Protagonist that loves Eroges :3

Ahaha, I can't wait for the next episodes though. Lol, I never thought this anime will have these kinds of controversy O_O XD

I fail to see how anyone who watched the rip is in any way responsible. This doesn't affect Japan any more than your everyday fansub. If you're talking about how the American anime industry is dying, most people here don't care.
