It was originally produced by Takahata as a recap edition of the first six episode of the TV series in 1989 but hadn't been shown in the theaters.

Wonder how good it'd be in comparison to the books.
If it's essentially the first six eps of Akage no Anne then... very, very good.
And if anyone subs it, they better remember to use the corresponding lines from the book.
