Winners of the Newtype Anime Awards 2025

Winners of the 2025 Newtype Anime Awards were announced at the Machi★Asobi Vol.29 event on Sunday. Fans selected the winners from a list of eligible titles through magazine and online polls. Titles that were eligible this year were television series and movies that aired or premiered between July 2024 and June 2025.

Makeine and Apocalypse Hotel winning Best Picture. Awesome stuff.

If you haven't watched Makeine, please do so now. It's one of the best-executed and most fun rom-coms in ages. I assume even more people haven't watched Apocalypse Hotel, so please go watch that as well. It offers an introspective viewing experience that I don't think any other anime replicates.

Not a bad list at all, got to watch Medalist and Apocalypse Hotel before their 2nd seasons start, and got to catch up on GQuuuuX...
