Code Geass: Dakkan no Rozé

Year Seven of the Kowa Period, in the former Hokkaido Block occupied by the Neo-Britannian Empire, live mercenary brothers known as the Nameless Mercenaries. The eldest, Ash, has excellent athletic ability and advanced Knightmare Frame controlling skills, while the youngest, Rozé, is clearheaded and oversees intel gathering and devising strategies. Due to an impregnable wall of energy called the Situmpe Wall, for four years the 100th emperor who stopped the Black Knights' liberation plan, Callis al Britannia, has been trying to plunge the world into chaos once again with the help of his servant, Norland, and his Einberg Knights. Upon receiving a request, Rozé and Ash, along with the Seven Shining Stars resistance group confront the Empire to recapture Princess Sakuya.

Preliminary (3/12 eps)

It’s good.

Just saw episodes 1-3 in the theater in Japan.
Went in expecting another Akito or Resurrection or a quick cash grab, but this is something else.

Story:
Set some years after Resurrection. Hokkaido has been occupied by Neo Britannia. Two Britannian brothers, Ash and Roze, must recapture a girl named Sakuya who is the daughter of Hokkaido’s previous leader. Now that’s all I will tell you because literally everything else is a spoiler.

Characters:
I don’t want to say anything because even mentioning things about the main characters is a spoiler.

Animation:
I’d say it’s pretty good. Maybe not as good as SEED FREEDOM but that’s a movie and this is a theatrical 4 part series/ONA so it’s not fair to compare the two.

Music:
Good.

Overall:
Definitely watch this. You don’t need to have watched Resurrection to understand this so long as you have a basic understanding of the world of Code Geass.

Mixed Feelings

Preliminary (3/12 eps)

Many years after the main series, we have new heroes and abilities with a princess disguised as a boy and a "brother" who kick butt and take names.

As someone who loved the original series and still keeps it in the top-tier series on my ever-growing list of animes, I do not wish to compare it to it. Why? Because it will fall short.

The art in the series is fine. It is on par with the original series, and I enjoy the art style for all of the characters.
The area that I feel has yet to excite me to watch every new release is the ... storyline.

Twins separated from battle, a princess must disguise herself and use her ability to take down the evil empire that is once again suppressing Japan and holding her sister hostage. The overall depth of the story is not too deep. The mastermind strategy seems to lack the layers of complexity that you expect to really get you on the edge of your seat.

While this may pick up in the second half of the season, for now, this is one of those. If I have 30 minutes of free time, why not watch an episode rating? If you watched the original series and want a new story, it's a good watch. If you never watched the series and are looking at this objectively, it's an alright anime, but there are far better shows airing right now.

Story:
The brothers face their greatest challenge when Japan gets occupied again by remnants of the Brittania royalty calling themselves the "Neo Britannian Empire". Led by Neo Britannia's 100th emperor, Chalice al Britannia, and his Knights of Einberg, Japan is isolated it from the rest of the world with the impregnable "Situmpe Barrier (シトゥンペバリア)" energy wall for the next 4 years. To counter this new Britannian invasion, Roze and Ash accepts the UFN government request to assist the Black Knights' Liberation Plan and the resistance group called the "Seven Shining Stars (七煌星団)" to take on Neo Britannia and rescue Sakuya Sumeragi.

Overall:
Britannia becomes Liberal Britannia's saying Japanese's 11 still going some yellow red blue haired unattractive voicing boy is main character but she becomes girl and she have a holographic Geass that she opens with she's hands on neckless and moves she's hand to make Geass in ears, the Knightmares Have LASERS shooting they playing a holographic chess
