Well this episode had some rather major revelations that will hopefully be better elaborated on in the coming episodes. Basically thanks to Ash's infatuation with the real Sakuya, she is able to plant a recording device on him. Then when Ash meets with a Brittanian soldier (sorry I don't remember all their names), it is revealed that he never killed her father and is also Norland's adopted son. They didn't really expand on this much yet, but I'm glad we are starting to get to find out more of the truth about Ash so that some of the deceptions can start being sorted out (from the next time preview it seems that Ash may realize the truth about Sakuya and the Geass rather soon). This episode was also a good reminder that Code Geass absolutely does not shy away from fan service and violence. Apart from the female character designs already leaning in that direction, this episode had some rare uncensored scenes which was interesting to see. I guess as a movie/ONA they have less restrictions. The torture scene was also quite brutal, with the piercing of the eyes being decently grotesque. Of course, all the torture going on has done a good job of making the villains clearly evil - I wouldn't want subtly in my antagonists after all.

You know Ash really is that down bad for "Raspberry" when barely catching a glimpse of her was enough to make him teleport behind her. And after the revelation he might not be her dad's actual murderer he might even have a real chance now!

I can assure you viewer, the boobs with defined nipples close-up was absolute critical to the plot.

Ash is great soldier. Lurking probably every day, and not getting caught.

Walther realizing what the government didn't realize in who knows how many years.

That's some mouthful name.

One moment your trying to impress a waitress who is secretly pretending to be your brother, and in the next your in an armed car ride standoff with an old coworker. Ash sure is quick to shift gears!

For Me, This Series Is Quite Dare For The Animators, Still Good And Believable, But I Don't Want To Get Horny For Lelouch Supremacy!

Ash didn't kill her father... what a truly lame cop-out.

Sakuya falling in love with the killer of her father would have been such an awesome development, but no... Sunrise decided to ruin it.

The romance could have a chance even if he did it, Sunrise was just too weak to actually pull it off.

@Zarutaku true it could work but the writers play it safe

Ash not killing Sakuya's father is a copout. I kind of saw it coming but I still can't say I'm a fan.
Narah's logic for why she's working with Norland is dumb.

oh shit are they going to pull a CCA or Operation British-style diversion?
Casualty-less diversion, was achieved, Sapporo was saved.
Norland expected them to pull off that miracle, he's closer to finding out that Rozé has geass with the soldier at the checkpoint obeying his command to save the Japanese then having no memory of it afterwards.
Nina heads back.
Sherry me had her brother's purple eyes and the standard feminine CLAMP face, the result of her union with Japanese governor Jugo is Lelouch's near-identical niece.
The black knights keep Rozé's identity a secret from Sakai
Nice nipples, get out after wearing that disguise near 24/7.
With the café fully packed, Raspberry returns to lend Mei a hand in shopping.
It was fate that brought Raspberry to Ash.
He's gonna treasure that bug"souvenir" forever.
Narah Vaughn has come to check if the Zi-Apollo pilot she fought hard against at the Damocles battle was really the boy from the orphanage.
Ash wasn't responsible for SakuyaRozéRaspberry's father's death? This is going somewhere...more than that, he is Norland's adopted son.
Focusing Geass directly into the victim's eyes to get the truth out at the cost of their lives.
He knew what the code talk about "the cat" meant, didn't he?
So Ash's false memories of Rozé are based on one of the fellow orphans he killed at Lavender Home? And Norland, who adopted him, made him do it on the path to becoming a feared assassin/pilot...not only is Norland a Char Clone, then, he's also an Ali Al-Saachez clone.

I appreciated the fanservice and the hand drawn animation. Basic looking animated cars just like back in the old days.

I know Lelouch Vi Britannia is a hell of an act to follow, but the season is halfway done and I still don't fundamentally care about Ash or Sakuya(Roze). They lack charisma and with their mystery stripped away, they are fairly boring as characters.

Except Roze's breast band. That you can just put something on your chest and your breasts disappear has to be an injoke with the writers of this anime. It's so ridiculous that the world of Code Geass is the only place where that kind of lunacy can exist without judgement.

Perhaps Taniguchi was right to leave Code Geass alone if he and writing team couldn't come up with a story worth the universe they created. IMO, despite all the awesome subversions of Gundam tropes, it only worked because Lelouch carried the slack that his fairly interest side characters and villains left him from time to time.

The chinese princess from R2 worked as a character AND plot point because she was surrounded by interesting characters. This season is like R2 without the worldbuilding and other things in the background keeping the story moving forward.

It seems like plenty of people are enjoying this show and more power to them. Personally, I hope a lot of people watch this so they can make a proper 24 season anime with characters and themes worthy of the Code Geass name. I'm gonna keep watching this to the end. It's what a mecha fan would do in my book.

Worse spy ever. She fails wiretap 101. How are you gonna bug someone and not fully listen to the conversation?? He literally said they hadn't spoken since he left Norland about 2 years ago. That idiot thinks, "They've been in contact? Since when?" Uh...

Everybody focused on the plot while here I am wondering who that eye poking chick was?
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

I love the fan service Code Geass has xD

Some interesting revelations about Ash and his past, and there is more ahead... Their relationship will have a turn. I am always impressed by Sakuya's camouflage.

They managed to land damocles on a park and minimize destruction and deaths, well done.

More on Ash and Narah, they are from the same orphanage as shown in the photo Narah was looking at before. It's sad but both Ash and Narah can't go back on their vows so they'll keep being enemies. Hope Narah survives, like her. More info on Ash background with him being Arnold's adopted son and not actually the one at fault for killing Jugo.

Nice interaction between Natalia and Sakura. The new guy found out though but I think he's not gonna reveal it. Btw once again good fanservice. Specially with the Sakuya bed scenes, love those.

Oh come on ...

As others have mentioned, it's such a copout to have Ash not be this conflicted guy who killed Sakuya's father but wants to do good.

And then also have Narah complain about the atrocities that happened to the Britanians after the empire fell.
Did we forget the millions of pointless deaths to the Japanese people before that happened?

I get that she wants to do good (as did the Japanese and Black Knights) but to complain about it to Ash and asking him to not stand in her way just rubbed me the wrong way.
