The 21th and final episode of Boku no Hero Academia 7th Season (My Hero Academia Season 7) ended with an announcement on Saturday that the eighth and final season for the anime series is in production. The official website also posted an announcement promo and teaser visual (pictured). The final season is scheduled for a 2025 premiere.

Produced by Bones, the first anime season aired in 13 episodes in Spring 2016. The consecutive seasons premiered in Spring 2017, Spring 2018, Fall 2019, Spring 2021, and Fall 2022 respectively—each running for 25 episodes.

The 13th and 14th volumes included two original video anime episodes in April and June 2017. The Futari no Hero, Heroes:Rising, and World Heroes' Mission side-story movies opened in Japan in August 2018, December 2019, and August 2021. The fourth and latest movie, You're Next, premiered on August 2.

The anime series adapts Kouhei Horikoshi's action superhero manga, which drew inspiration from his Boku no Hero (My Hero) one-shot that was published in the 2008 Winter issue of Akamaru Jump. The manga began serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump in July 2014 and ended on August 5. Shueisha published the 41st volume on August 2. Boku no Hero Academia has a cumulative 100 million copies of its compiled volumes in print.

VIZ Media simulpublishes the manga in English with the Japanese release. The 39th volume shipped on October 1, with the 40th volume scheduled to go on sale on February 11, 2025. Shueisha's Manga Plus platform also simulpublishes the manga in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, Thai, Portuguese, Indonesian, and Vietnamese.

For someone that thinks that my comments on this website are nonsensical you always pay attention and read what I have to say . Some spiteful third party reading your comment here would think that I live rent free in your head.

@Yubisoft how is adapting an entire manga milking it till the end? LMFAO gotta say, one of the most nonsensical things ive heard you say on here

By far one of the worst long animes i have seen in the last few years, for real cut the final just for a movie? like if the people enjoyed the final of the manga dear god....

Well, here we go, the final chapters to the anime. Toho animation and Shuiesha had a long adaptation of the series since 10 years. Dr. Stone is having a final season, and now My hero academia. After this series has concluded, there will likely be other anime franchises to be long adapted to the end. It will likely be Jujutsu Kaisen, but we will see later on.

Staff at Bones can finally be set FREE, enslaved, having to work on this series for this many years, jeez.

even though the final arc isn't good, i hope the adaptation actually makes up for it and is a lot better than the last one.

@EcchiGodMamster Should be the actual final season, I don't think Bones will pull a MAPPA.

@thebrentinator24 they say anything because they have a great need to say anything. Some people here have the need to comment, even by writing anything or saying shit just, to feel that they exist. Very likely because they have 0 life outside of MAL.

is this the ACTUAL final season? or is this the final part of the final part of the final part of the final season?

Oct 12, 1:46 PM by EcchiGodMamster

Thank God; it’s time for it to end. I hope it’s a two-part season at most.

I don't believe we'll get it next year
Bones has shown they take 18 months or so since season 4

Oct 12, 11:04 AM by akano

Yes! I am glad this show got a faithful ending not many shows get this treatment idc if it's good ending or bad it has one . Well bones are pretty good with adaptions they usually adapt manga till the end like mob,FMA BROTHERHOOD and now hero..it's time to binge everything I stopped after season 1 it was good finally I can finish what once I started

I will always be happy to see a full adaptation of a show's source material. Because there are so many shows that don't get that opportunity. I haven't seen My Hero Academia S7 (yet) and don't know how the show ends but I've enjoyed the show, so looking forward to a conclusion!

Damn, the final time we'll get one of these next season announcements immediately following the conclusion of an MHA season.

Gotta milk the franchise till the end. How low Bones has fallen.

Ah yes, because adapting a manga until its literal end is "milking it until the end." People really just say anything these days lol.

I'm on the side of the people who say we are lucky to get a complete adaptation. For a story with so much potential that it used really well and a studio that has been so faithful and generous as to give us a new season each year. I'm happy that I get to see the conclusion to an Anime I've been following since my mid teens.

Thank goodness finally

@Yubisoft adapting the manga’s ending into the final season because it couldn't fit into the current season is “milking”? 🤔
