'Onimusha' Reveals Cast, Additional Staff, Theme Song, Trailer, November 2 Premiere

Netflix Japan revealed on Thursday the cast, additional staff, theme song, key visual (pictured), and a trailer for the Onimusha anime series. The anime is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix on November 2.

Italian rock band Måneskin is performing the theme song "The Loneliest." The song is previewed in the trailer below.

Shinya Sugai (Dragon's Dogma) is directing the anime with chief director Takashi Miike (Koroshiya 1 live-action director) at Sublimation.

Capcom developed and published the first game in the series in January 2001 in Japan for Playstation 2 and released an updated version for Xbox in 2002. Onimusha received seven other entries in the following years. An HD remaster of the first Onimusha released on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

I wish Netflix wouldn't rely on CGI, but this actually looks promising. Hopefully, quality wise, this is less Dragon's Dogma and more Tekken.

As someone who played Onimusha 1 & 2 on PS2 (I got to buy the remastered 1st game for my PS4/PS5), I'm excited by the trailer. I'm going to watch this on Netflix when it comes out in Nov.

Maneskin? Seriously? While adapting the cult samurai action game series? I understand that this project is aimed at a global audience, but couldn't they have found a more authentic artist? For example, Wagaki Band or Onmyo-Za.
