The 13th and final episode of the Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen (Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown) television anime adapting Ken Wakui's action manga announced on Sunday a third season subtitled Tenjiku-hen, revealing two additional cast members, an announcement promo, and a key visual (pictured).

Nobunaga Shimazaki (One Piece) and Tetsu Inada (Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season) are joining the cast as Izana Kurokawa and Kanji Mochizuki, respectively.

Produced by LIDENFILMS, the 24-episode first season aired in Spring 2021, while the second season aired in 13 episodes in Winter 2023. Crunchyroll simulcast the first season with subtitles worldwide, excluding Asia, and Disney+ streams the second season worldwide.

Wakui began drawing the action manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine in March 2017. Kodansha shipped the 31st and final volume on January 17. The manga has a cumulative 70 million copies in circulation.

Kodansha USA began releasing the manga digitally in English in 2018. The 29th volume went on sale on February 14. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in November 2021 and will release physical volumes in omnibus editions. The fourth omnibus volume was released on February 7.

Tokyo Revengers won the 44th Kodansha Manga Awards in the Shounen category and ranked among the top twenty titles in the male readers division in the 2022 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings. The manga placed second in the Japan's Yearly Manga Rankings, selling over 11 million copies in the 2022 fiscal year.

Synopsis
Takemichi Hanagaki's life is at an all-time low. Just when he thought it couldn't get worse, he finds out that Hinata Tachibana, his ex-girlfriend, was murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang: a group of vicious criminals that has been disturbing society's peace for quite some time.

Wondering where it all went wrong, Takemichi suddenly finds himself traveling through time, ending up 12 years in the past—when he was still in a relationship with Hinata. Realizing he has a chance to save her, Takemichi resolves to infiltrate the Tokyo Manji Gang and climb the ranks in order to rewrite the future and save Hinata from her tragic fate. I don't know why ppl be hating on this so much yet continue to watch it so they know how else they can complain on here about why they think it's bad. Also talking bout how the way its set in Japan and how they're hoodlums are, so ppl else where can't relate to it. Idk how hoodlums and biker gangs are elsewhere but in the US and every movie/show I've seen with it being about hoodlums in other parts. They've all been exactly the same as in this show. I've barely seen anything in the show that's been directly related to them being in Japan other then them being able to ride "motorbikes" at such a young age but I think you can get a bikers license at 14 and those lower graded motorbikes are prob sold in the US I just haven't ever had the interest in them as those smaller version ones just make me think of motorized scooters and if I'm gonna ride one it'd have to be something better then that. I admit takamitchy can be annoying and bitchy at times but that's one of the main things of the shoe. How he was a Lil wimp but still doesn't give in and pushes forwarded no matter what so he can save the girl he loves and eventually becomes him trying to save the friends he made over time from a horrible future where most of them got killed or something similar. Haven't read all the manga yet cause didn't wanna ruin the excitement of not knowing how the story is gonna go. Don't know how ppl can hate this so much but I love it. I always enjoyed the time travelin animes like this though. Still haven't watched what everyone says is the best one yet(Steins Gate) just cause I haven't took the time but I enjoyed watching Erased, Summer Time Rendering(I really loved it), and really loved The Future Diary and Charlotte. If you really don't enjoy watching it then quit wasting time on here complaining why you think it's bad and use that time to watch a new anime you'll like and go talk about why you think it's good on that page instead of being negative and complaining about something you don't like. I bet you'd enjoy that more then this. Then again there are those type of ppl who get enjoyment from doing that so idk. Just saying you'll feel better about talking bout something you enjoy instead of something you don't haha

The setting doesn’t necessarily need to be Japan to use that kind of story.
In the anime version, the whole setting is also inspired from a real-life volunteer group from Tokyo. I saw the anime, and the Japanese style demeanors wouldn't be expressed by those delinquent grous from China or Canada (my origin countries).
Do you mean Black Emperor? They weren’t a volunteer group but a violent biker gang. The manga author (Wakui) was a member of a biker gang when he was younger and that’s what inspired him. It’s believed it was Black Emperor he was a member of since they use the manji symbol like Tokyo Manji do.

I’m interested to know now, how do delinquents behave in China? I assumed it would be the same as Japan and elsewhere.

This is a good example of an anime series that is only popular in Japan and not that popular outside of Japan due to how the storyline and universe are usually inspired by juvenile aggressions unique to Japanese society.

I’m not sure what you mean. Do you not have rebellious teenagers and biker gangs in your country? The plot of Tokyo Revengers is going back in time to save someone who was murdered. The setting doesn’t necessarily need to be Japan to use that kind of story.

Wonderful news! As much as I was disappointed by the ending of the manga, I’m eager to see more of my favourite scenes animated.
Haters gonna hate but this series is very popular in Japan. I can’t go anywhere without seeing Tokyo Revengers merch or hearing the theme songs. And I don’t even live in Tokyo! I imagine it’s even more popular there! Sure Tokyo Revengers is not as popular as Demon Slayer or Spy x Family but it has to be one of the top series in Japan right now. I only started watching and reading it last year because of how much PR the series was getting – I couldn’t ignore it!

I was thinking that it would probably be an anime, so I'm not too surprised.

For everyone saying this is bad needs to know that the manga has sold over 70 millon copies and merch,of course they will adapt it to the good end

It is popular outside Japan too.

Another win for the fans.
Ppl were thinking that season 2 was a failure meanwhile in Japan the anime is too popular.

Indeed, you are right.

Manga's shit ending and Disney-Kodansha deal killed any interest.

I am sorry, why do you even watch it if you don't like it? It is strange.

How I love it when haters sincerely believe that anime is not popular and is necessarily a failure if it is not popular with the elites in the West.

No surprises here, hopefully the wait won't be too long.

I understand the hate the show gets but I still really enjoy this show. This season was a downgrade from last season but I'm still kind of enjoying it. I heard this next arc is gonna be good, so hype to see the season already announced.

They are gonna continue to make sequels for this show until they adapt the whole manga.
