The official website of the Shuumatsu no Walküre (Record of Ragnarok) anime series revealed four new cast and promotional video on Thursday for its second season. The new season is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix in 2023.

Cast
Jack the Ripper: Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama)
Heracles: Katsuyuki Konishi (Kimetsu no Yaiba)
Raiden Tameermon: Subaru Kimura (Akudama Drive)
Buddha: Yuuichi Nakamura (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Animation studio Yumeta Company is co-producing the second season with Graphinica. Yuka Yamada (Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon) is joining Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken) for the series composition.

Other returning staff include Masao Ookubo (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood episode director), Masaki Satou (Magic Kaito), and Yasuharu Takanashi (Kengan Ashura) as the director, character designer, and music composer, respectively.

The first season aired in 12 episodes worldwide on Netflix last June. The anime adapts Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and Ajichika's dark fantasy battle action manga, which began in Monthly Comic Zenon in November 2017. Coamix published the 15th volume on June 20. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English and will release the fourth volume on October 18.

No, it's not. Netflix do this all the time when they have influence, and unless it's an original, it's usually a weird priority. CSM has good priorities from what I can see, and the VA's would have come from competitive auditions if they are new. They would obviously get paid way less than bigger ones, but nothing is really being compromised and the audience for CSM clearly likes what they've seen. Again, you sound like you care a bit much.

Yes, it is.
You should not compare Chainsaw Man to stock anime Netflix orders and releases to make effortless buck.

It's a valid comparison. It's showing what priorities can lead to. This series could actually look fine if money wasn't being blown for the sake of big names. They even got Takanashi on the soundtrack for this slideshow. I can actually appreciate what CSM is doing with the budget. Looks like the fans are getting something spectacular.

We are talking about THE most hyped anime in history. Testing rookies here is just weird and kinda risky.
Also, Amamiya had her first major roles in 2014, two years after her debut and exploded in popularity only after voicing Aqua in 2016, so...
Yeah it's risky as hell, and I personally probably wouldn't take those risks, but honestly, from what I've heard so far, nobody sounds bad, and if the series is a success the payoff will more than make up for it and these kids will then get their names out there like Amamiya did and then go on to be prominent VA's

As for Sora, I meant to say 2014 (I mixed up when Tokyo Ghoul and Akame ga Kill came out with 2016, idk why lol), but regardless, my point still stands. At this point, she was still a newcomer in terms of getting prominent roles in prominent anime series and yet they still gave her 3 leading roles in 3 of the biggest anime to come out that year in Akame ga Kill, Tokyo Ghoul and 7DS (Which all 3 to this day are still very popular and well known). She had hype long before the KonoSuba days

Sora, just like Ai Fairouz, who will be voicing Power already had some experience before she received some high profile roles. It usually were minor roles in mundane shows.
But casting some completely green guy as the protagonist of fkin CHAINSAW MAN is asking for disaster, when bar is set so high and expectations are huge.
Unless they are knowing what they are doing, because Original Author is apparently supervising casting process.

It already sounds better, but I hope it doesn't end up as yabai like the Platinum End.
Its a very good series, but I recommend that you read the manga just in case the second season doesn't deliver in the ways that we're hoping it does lol

Well, I don't know why, but I heard that the Japanese people were quite sarcastic about anime adaptations.

Art and animation aside, this series is far from being trash, and as for the VA's how else are the newcomers in Japan supposed to get noticed and get jobs if studios don't take chances on them? Look at Sora Amamiya for example, she was a newcomer back in 2016 and now look at her

Yes, its easier to just bring out OG's but they're not gonna be here forever and will want to do different things, and start families and eventually retire etc. You have to give the next generation a chance to prove themselves, and I commend Mappa for allowing these kids to come in make themselves known in such a big stage like this

The people chosen represents some of the best that humanity has to offer. The premise of the series is that the Gods want to basically end humanity for good because they feel like humanity is trash, and the Valkyries want to save them because they see the best in us and how much potenntial we have, and thus they believe that humanity is worth saving, so she (Essentially the head Valkyrie sister) chose prominent figures throughout our history to represent the best of us in order to prove to the gods that we are worth saving

If you would do an absolute minimum of research, you would notice, that Chainsaw Man MC would be voiced by a complete rookie with no prior experience, which is kinda weird to do with such a high profile production, while this absolute trash is getting THE best voice actors in the industry.
Pretty wild, isn't it? I think it's worth of pointing out.
