'86' Reveals Additional Staff, Promo for April 2021 Debut

The Important Information Livestream event for the television anime adaptation of Asato Asato's light novel series 86 (Eighty-Six) revealed additional staff, the first promotional video, and first key visual (pictured) on Tuesday. The anime series is scheduled to air in April 2021.

Music: Kohta Yamamoto (Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen), Hiroyuki Sawano (Aldnoah.Zero)
CG Production: Shirogumi

Toshimasa Ishii (Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia episode director) is helming the anime at A-1 Pictures, with Toshiya Oono (Houseki no Kuni (TV)) handling the series composition. Tetsuya Kawakami (Gakusen Toshi Asterisk) is drawing the character designs.

Asato began publishing the light novel under the Dengeki Bunko imprint in February 2017, featuring illustrations by Shirabi and mechanical designs by I-IV (Re:Creators). Kadokawa shipped the eighth volume on May 9, with the ninth volume planned for a February 10, 2021 release.

NOW THIS is a show I REALLY want to watch right now.

Shirogumi for CGI, really not a surprise if you're into the horrible Netflix anime catalogue. Reivisions was mid-tier, but the CG production is competent.

And as expected of A-1 Pictures, a confirmed PTW.

shirogumi was responsible for revisions so the cg should be ok, I wanna watch it cause it sounds interesting

CG looks pretty good I don't know if it's as good as some of the stuff Sunrise has done lol. In general looking forward to more military mecha anime. Not super common these days. Hopefully the story is good I know it has some praise behind it.

The narrative really should be the least of your worries. It's very critically acclaimed for several reasons.
Instead gotta hope that the schedule holds up.

Those thighs and mechs compel me to watch it. Visuals look good, cg mechs especially so, and I hope the story is as good as people are saying it is.

2021 looking promising for mecha genre so far.

The CG on the mechs is Gundam and Aldnoah Zero tier, I got to see this.

As a huge fan of the novel, I can only feel blessed to have Sawano aboard on this adaptation. CG and visuals looked pretty decent too.

Now to hope that they pace this well.

Gonna be unoriginal, but dang that PV showed some amazing animation work. A-1 is only getting better.

As for the music composers, pretty good. Looking forward towards an amazing production staff for this one.

Read the first three volumes and it's been really incredible so far. The PV looks great. Character designs are on-point and the CGI is wicked. Finally an LN adaptation I can get behind!

Her character design is lovely and it's also by A-1 Pictures? Sign me up.

I don't care if the show is going to have a bad story (hoping it doesn't) but I watch A-1 Pictures' anime for their insane production value. Literally they have one of the best production values in the industry.

Well it looks good but there was a lot of explosions and lightning going so it is hard to kinda see the CG but im impressed.
