The official twitter of Netflix Japan revealed the main staff and a teaser visual (pictured) for the new anime adaptation of Hiroshi Takashige and Ryouji Minagawa's Spriggan manga on Tuesday. The anime is scheduled to stream worldwide on Netflix in 2021.

Hiroshi Kobayashi (Kiznaiver, Hisone to Maso-tan) is helming the anime at David Production. Hiroshi Seko (Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen) is in charge of the series composition and script. Shuuhei Handa (Little Witch Academia (TV)) is the character designer.

Takashige and Minagawa serialized the action adventure manga in Shounen Sunday Super magazine from February 1989 to January 1996. Studio 4°C produced an anime film in September 1998.

VIZ Media published the first three volumes of the manga in English between November 1998 and May 1999. ADV Films released the anime film on DVD in April 2002.

Game developer FromSoftware published a video game based on the manga titled Spriggan: Lunar Verse in June 1999 on the Playstation console in Japan and Asia.

I'm looking forward to it. My main gripe with the movie was, that they picked a later part of the manga.

waiting for the PV its gonna be 1 cour or at least 13 episodes it seems since the manga is only 60 chapters long

I think it has to be more than 13 episodes, it's 11 volumes long, the movie covered one volume (equivalent to 3-4 episodes). so I can see it being 2 cour at the very least for a complete adaptation.

Netflix really does love cg anime huh?

But at which point will they realize their audience doesn't??

I don't think you speak for the entirety of their audience. Personally, I find a lot of Netflix's CG anime have looked really good. It's usually the writing where a lot f their anime have faltered

Yep, the amazing animation by Studio 4°C was one thing that movie had going for it. The story wasn't really engaging and appeared to be on par with 80's action hero movies.

The movie had cool animation but that's the only good thing about it. I read the manga too. This will likely suck.
