'WIXOSS Diva(A)Live' TV Anime Announces Cast and Staff, Winter 2021 Premiere

The WIXOSS Presentation New LRIG event announced on Tuesday that the new anime series in the franchise will air under the title WIXOSS Diva(A)Live in January 2021. Warner Bros. Japan opened an official website, revealing the cast, staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. The television anime was originally scheduled for a 2020 premiere.

Graphic design company NC Teikoku (Urahara title logo) is credited for the visual concept and original character designs. Illustrator Ui Shigure (Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy) is handling the character designs.

The trading card game by Takara Tomy inspired two anime seasons in Spring and Fall 2014. An anime film compiling and retelling both seasons premiered in February 2016.

Lostorage Incited WIXOSS, a new anime project in the franchise featuring an alternative setting, aired in Fall 2016. The Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS sequel anime premiered in Spring 2018.

I think it was literal just cameos. Can't remember any relevance for the anime plot on those works.

Also Re/verse ending was so abrupt and weird, seemed like it got the axe.

Well yeah, it looked like a cliché yuri story with the WIXOSS stuff added. So at the time, I thought for a long time that it was some kind of "excuse" for the fact that the only real romance in the original show was straight incest.

It's solid. Think Yu-gi-oh! meet Madoka. End is a little rushed, but still worthy the watch.

S3 and S4 (Lostorage Incited and Conflated) were bad, some good ideas here and there, but mostly bad.

Also, do read the Manga Selector Wixoss: Peeping Analyze. Is a good side-story/addition to the OG lore. And is short.

Funny enough, they did adapted some parts of that manga in minor flashbacks of the season 4...most likely because the protag of S4 (Piriluk/Kiyoi) was the MC of that manga.

This one seems like it will be bad...

Wixoss mixed with idols (also bands and DJs are present as well)?

Sounds like it might be lighter in tone than the first 4 seasons, but the concept is nice overall.

The first 2 seasons (Selecter incited and Selecter spread Wixoss) are the only one worth watching, in my opinion. I wouldn't call both seasons great but I enjoyed watching them.

The series' premise is sort of similar to Madoka Magica, where the girls discover a card game but they later find out it's more than just a card game. That's all I'll say since revealing more would be a spoiler.

The last 2 seasons (Lostorage incited and Lostorage conflated WIXOSS) are terrible and should be avoided. It's one of the most convulated seasons I've ever seen. The series should have ended at the 2nd season but they brought up more unnecessary conflicts at the 3rd season that just ruined the whole franchise for me.

I don't know how this new show will connect to the main lore but I can guarantee you, they'll find a way and fuck it up even more. For example, we Wixoss fans thought the 3rd season would just be a spin-off but they revealed at the middle of the season that it's actually connected to the main story. They'll do the same thing with this new show.

WIXOSS ended with Spread and well the bit of info the re-cap movie for me, they are trying to ruin one of my favorite shows and honestly they already kind of did.
