The official website of the Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rising of the Shield Hero) anime series announced on Friday that the second season will premiere in 2021. The website also revealed the first key visual (pictured), the first promotional video, and new production staff.

Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!) is directing the second season at Kinema Citrus and South Korean animation studio DR Movie, replacing Takao Abo. Scriptwriter Keigo Koyanagi (Sirius), character designer Masahiro Suwa (Hitsugi no Chaika), and music composer Kevin Penkin (Kami no Tou) are returning from the first season.

The first anime season produced by Kineta Citrus aired in two cours between Winter and Summer 2019, covering the first five volumes and the beginning of the sixth volume. Crunchyroll—who participated in the anime's production committee—simulcast the show with subtitles. Funimation subsequently streamed an English dub.

Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari adapts Yusagi Aneko's adventure fantasy light novel of the same title, which originally launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2012. Kadokawa began printing the novel with illustrations by Seira Minami the following August. The novel reached a cumulative circulation of 7.8 million copies with the release of the 22nd volume on June 25 last year.

Comic Flapper began serializing a manga adaptation by Kyu Aiya in February 2014. Kadokawa shipped the 16th volume on July 20.

One Peace Books licensed both the light novel and manga in English in 2015. The 17th light novel volume and the 14th manga volume shipped on July 14 and September 8, respectively.

Shut up, you have pretty trashy taste yourself, don't like it don't want it.
The first season could've ended on a high note, but they decided to

So that is your problem? Well, I was expecting a troll reply, just like mine, so I will be fair aswell. xD

They are not off the hook I would say, I think these scenes were a bit more tame than the LNs version, but there, the same thing still happens, whereas I heard things were far more drastic on the Web Novel.
So in short, the writer early on probably did it like you wanted it to be, but then mellowed it out for the LN, and the studios softened it further here.

The anime doesn't give proper context, but the king actually isn't that shitty of a person, unlike his daughter, and there was quite a lot stuff going inside Naofumi mind, that if you had read, would have you accept his decision better.

Also if you want to feel happy about it, I heard the Bitch
if that makes you feel better about it.

good for fans I guess, i strangely expected the wait to be a lot longer.

I'd be more excited, but time has dulled my interest in the series/characters/world/etc. high hopes that fans have something to enjoy

If Crunchyroll are intending to keep funding trashy anime then I'd rather see more of this and less Korean crap.

Seems like by that picture, they are going full budget into the Tortoise fight, which is something I m eager to see, with a proper budget.
Should be an interesting season, they are probably going to adapt till vol10.
