Main Cast and Additional Staff Announced for 'Yesterday wo Utatte'

The official website of the Yesterday wo Utatte (Sing "Yesterday" for Me) television anime revealed its main cast and additional staff on Wednesday. A promotional video and key visual (pictured right) were also unveiled. The series is scheduled to premiere on April 5 at 1:30 a.m. on TV Asahi and will broadcast for 12 episodes. After the main series has concluded, six additional episodes will stream exclusively on AbemaTV.

Haru Nonaka: Yume Miyamoto (Fragtime)
Shinako Morinome: Kana Hanazawa (5-toubun no Hanayome)
Rou Hayakawa: Natsuki Hanae (Kimetsu no Yaiba)

Yoshiyuki Fujiwara (Plastic Memories) is helming the series as the director and series composer at Doga Kobo. Other previously announced staff includes Jin Tanaka (Yuru Camp△) penning the script and Junichirou Taniguchi (Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai) on character design.

Yesterday wo Utatte is based on Kei Toume's slice of life romance manga of the same name. Shueisha published the 11th and final volume in September 2015.

I read this manga because Ilya Kushinov (the char desing of Bday Wonderland and Ghost in the Shell [Netflix]) mentioned one time, it's really cool to see an anime adapt.

It's rare to see anime characters that actually look like people nowadays :) Usually, in this case, it's going for a more realistic or mature approach.

Sounds interesting. At least there's hopefully no chance of anime original end with the manga being finished
