The official website of the third Toaru Kagaku no Railgun anime season revealed the lead staff members and a new key visual (pictured) on Friday. The new season, titled Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T, will begin airing on AT-X, Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS11 in January 2020. AbemaTV will also stream the anime.

Shougo Yasukawa (Shokugeki no Souma, Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin) is handling the series composition for the third season. Kentarou Izumi (Amanchu! Advance background art) will serve as the art director, replacing Tomonori Kuroda.

Returning staff members at J.C.Staff include director Tatsuyuki Nagai, character designer Yuuichi Tanaka, color designer Tomomi Andou, editor Shigeru Nishiyama, sound director Jin Aketagawa, photography director Shingo Fukuyo, and music composer Maiko Iuchi.

Indie pop duo fripSide will perform the opening theme, while J-rock band Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets will perform the ending theme.

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun adapts Kazuma Kamachi and Motoi Fuyukawa's spin-off manga of the same title, which has been serialized in Dengeki Daioh since February 2007. Kadokawa will publish the 15th compiled volume on October 10.

The first two 24-episode anime seasons produced by J.C.Staff premiered in Fall 2009 and Spring 2013, adapting the first six volumes and the earlier chapters of the seventh volume. Geneon Universal Entertainment (now NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan) released a standalone original video episode in October 2010.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in July 2010 and published the 14th volume on August 20. Funimation licensed the anime series in North America and released the first season on DVD in April 2013 and on Blu-ray in January 2015. The second season was shipped on DVD between July and August 2014 and on Blu-ray in January 2016.

So excited for this...though I'm also prepared to be disappointed since I saw how horrible Index 3 and Accelerator adaption were.

DAMN! I NEVER BEEN SO FUCCING HYPE IN MA LIFE AFTER KNOWING MY FAV ANIME WILL RELEASE NEW SEASON THIS JANUARY!

ITS BEEN 6 YEARS! ALSO FRIPSIDE WILL BE RETURNING AGAIN!

Based on key visuals the highlight of the new season will be the rivalry between Misaka and Misaki then one of the best arc in Railgun manga which the Daihasei Festival Arc.

Can't wait for this, i hope it surpass the Sister's Arc adaptation.

Now, 2020 couldn't start any better! Legit so hyped for this, please outclass Index like you always have done!

Interesting though, Railgun T, I wonder if it's connected to something that will be adapted this season.

Railgun T eh? So judging by their name scheme, Railgun S meant "Second" and so for this season, it's "T" for " Third”.

Another way of looking at it would be in alphabetical order: Railgun, hence R to start off and then S followed by T. If this is how it is indeed then I hope to see a “U” by the end of “T” Season lol.

I am hyped for this, this is gonna adapt my favourite arc of Railgun Manga(as of now), hopefully it will surpass Second Season.

Railgun T eh? So judging by their name scheme, Railgun S meant "Second" and so for this season, it's "T" for " Third".

I always assumed it was called "Railgun S" because it covered the "Sisters" arc and I thought this season was going to be called Railgun D.

Ehh, the director is the same as the one from the previous two seasons. I hope he will not include more shitty fillers with Kuroko and the two other bitches being annoying dipshits this time.

Other than that, hyped cause more Misaki. Hopefully this will not be a mess like Index III.

Since Tatsuyuki Nagai is directing it again, this might turn out to be good and escape the current J C Staff curse.

@_MushiRock11_ There was a season break between Index III and Accelerator, too, though.

Oh right, that too. But I suppose that was most likely intended exclusively for ToAru Accelerator while this break in Fall Season for Railgun T.
