The synopsis sounds a lot like WataMote, though the MC sounds like a character that Mari Okada would write.

This manga review by @CloacaMahoney describes it well: https://myanimelist.net/reviews.php?id=233949

There have been only two manga I have read that focus on a character with apparent social anxiety. Watamote, which is often known as an extremely cynical view on the condition.
And Hitoribocchi, which is more or less the anti-Watamote.
I came into both of these manga at separate times, but both manga were read during times where my own social anxiety were at its peak. Where Watamote is good for people who suffer under the disorder to laugh at themselves in a more mean-spirited way, Hitoribocchi is perfect for those who want a more lighthearted laugh.

The question is, why keep jumping on new ones when there are 2000 that were just abandoned after 1 cour? That is the main problem with this subgenre. Never finishing an IP = desensitization and devaluation, and the main reason for derision the subgenre deservedly gets.

Do you have stats on adaptation completion rate by genre? Because in my experience, that's a problem across the board in anime. It actually matters less in slice of life that has no focus on an overarching goal. The manga I'd pick up to complete the story after watching the anime are in other genres - romance, mainly. For some of my absolute 10/10 CGDCT shows I might pick up the manga someday, but those are the exception to the rule. I haven't developed the ability to enjoy CGDCT manga anywhere near as much as CGDCT anime.

I'd say CGDCT gets derision mainly because it has no value to offer to a lot of people. That alone is a perfectly adequate explanation.

desensitization, devaluation, derision, deservedly
STRONG BAD: So for death metal, you want to scream from the bowels of your lungs. The bowels! Words like, 'decay,' 'deranged,' 'decrepit,' and um, 'delouse.' In fact, you really can't go wrong with anything that starts with d-e. 'Cept for maybe

SINGER: Dentist!

BACK-UP: Jugga jigga wugga!

SINGER: Deli-style!

where are the good directors? probably left this industry when they understood what was going to happen

I got some good schadenfreude out of watching the weeping and gnashing of teeth among fans when, a couple of years ago, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood director Yasuhiro Irie was found to be directing Scorching Ping Pong Girls. https://myanimelist.net/anime/33031/Shakunetsu_no_Takkyuu_Musume

Really cute series I've been reading for awhile. I hope it won't be a short.

Knew this was getting an anime the second I read chapter one. Like moths to a flame, the production companies to the accusedly-cute girls doing nothing. The question is, why keep jumping on new ones when there are 2000 that were just abandoned after 1 cour? That is the main problem with this subgenre. Never finishing an IP = desensitization and devaluation, and the main reason for derision the subgenre deservedly gets.

Hmm seems interesting, might watch it. Hope it's better than Watamote.

I read few chapters, but it seemed to me that this manga is very similar to Mitsuboshi Colors, another work of the same author. Only this girls are older and humor are more high school-ish.

Oooh, looks like C2C is getting pretty busy and making some more anime. The synopsis sounds a lot like WataMote, though the MC sounds like a character that Mari Okada would write. Well I want to support C2C more, so I'll give this a watch.

Well on this im actually hyped a bit.

The director seems underwhelming since the only thing the person worked on as a director were a 4-episode series. So this will be skeptical, but he seems to have some promising track record to some degree.

As for the series composition, that's pretty much a higher-up in contrast... so it's more mixed imo.

Interesting choice. From ecchi yuri-ish Harukana Receive this year, to an innocent cute slice of life Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu in the next. However, I like their volleyball, I hope that their new project will not disappoint me either.
