Seiyuu Aoi Yuuki to Pause Solo Artist Music Career

The official fan club of Aoi Yuuki has announced that she will pause her solo artist music career as of Friday. She is happy with the result from singing her songs and providing her own world instead of as her characters'. She especially considers her third mini album Tokowakanokuni the best result created with the staff members,. She wishes that she will have chance to resume her solo artist music career with her creativity resuming and that fans will support when that comes. The service under AoimAniA will also end on June 30, 2017.

Yuuki's solo artist debut under Flying Dog record company was her 20th birthday, on March 27, 2012 with first mini album Petit Pas. She has released 3 mini album, 1 full album and two single CDs. Both of her single CDs have been used for anime theme songs: ending theme song of Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda and opening theme song of Kanojo ga Flag wo Oraretara. She is also one of the members of duo band petit milady with Ayana Taketatsu and already performed several anime theme songs. She is mainly active as a seiyuu and will still continue seiyuu activity, that includes character songs.

Radio public recording and screening + talk event for the BD, yes. There's also release event on August.

I actually know that petit milady has no announcements about disbanding. Actually they just released a song included in Akiba's Trip ending songs album last month. I just phrased my question badly by inserting "like Petit Milady" in an awkward position.

Is it possible that she will still be able to sing as a part of an idol unit like Petit Milady (assuming that the idol unit she is member with is not defunct)? It's not a solo career, I believe.

She needs a slight break and at least she's still voice acting so no anime are affected.

Yes, she should be very happy!
Her album Ishmael among others is filled with fascinating instrumentals, and when rightfully coupled with her sweet voice, it sounds so good to me.

I'll just add that often enough, it's really considered both the seiyuu's songs, and the character's songs. I can't speak for Symphogear and Aoi Yuuki, but many other character songs have been released on their respective seiyuu's albums under their own name. This might've happened with Aoi Yuuki eventually. Might still, I guess, if it's really just a hiatus. I swear most hiatus end up lasting forever though...

Examples? I don't think so. You may be confusing singles released under the seiyuu's name with actual character songs. I can only think of a few cases where actual character songs were released on their albums or performed live outside of an anime event.

It's sad, since her normal singing voice, which she can usually only use in her solo songs, sounds so great and her live performances are more like musicals which I find pretty unque.

But than again she's most likely really busy with all the stuff she's doing, so she probably gets more time to focus on the things she's most popular for.

The title had me a bit shocked at first, but I'm just happy it doesn't seem to be for health reasons.

Hmm i mainly know Aoi chan as a seiyuu and i only heard a few of her songs. But it really takes a lot out of someone if they have to focus on two different careers so taking the time to focus on one thing only is a good move i think.

As for her skills as a seiyuu i love her voice and her voice range and over the years she has portrayed her assigned characters with great skill and brought out the personalities of these characters to amazing effect. For this year alone her standout role is of course Tanya from Youjo Senki.

I wish her continued success in both her singing and voice acting career.

It is not about song length. It is about her management not wanting her to continue a solo career. They are pausing it. But character songs are completely different. They are not considered Aoi Yuki songs at all, they are Hibiki (cv Aoi Yuki). It is a business decision. She does better business wise as a seiyuu.
