Manga 'To LOVE-Ru Darkness' Ends, Receives New OVA

The April 2017 issue of Jump SQ, shipping on March 4, has been revealed to contain the final chapter of Kentaro Yabuki and Saki Hasemi's To LOVE-Ru Darkness manga. Two extra chapters of the manga will be released in the May and June 2017 issue of the magazine. The 18th and final volume of the series will go on sale on April 4. In addition, an OVA adapting the extra chapters, as well as a tenth anniversary book titled Trouble Chronicle (alternatively To LOVE-Ru Chronicle) has been planned for release on August 4.

The original To LOVE-Ru manga was serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump for 18 volumes between April 2006 and August 2009. The sequel, To LOVE-Ru Darkness, has been serialized in Jump SQ since October 2010. The series has inspired four TV anime seasons in Spring 2008, Fall 2010, Fall 2012, and Summer 2015, as well as multiple OVAs bundled with compiled manga volumes. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime seasons for North American distribution and released the series in Blu-ray and DVD between December 2009 and November 2016.

The series will not continue with a new storyline and new name because two main protagonists finally confessed their love for each other in mean Rito and Haruna.The main focus was just confession which they finnaly did.So story ended with great disappointment that it will not continue anymore.

To me both.

From the fanservice side the series could continue forever for me, from the story side there should be some decent form of closure. If you like a series very much you can become invested with the characters, even if it's a simple story as this.

To Love-Ru is just fun. It's light-hearted. Even if there is no new material you can always read the volumes randomly, that's why I like episodic series.

Well it is a really good series by ecchi standards. But yes people want a continuation because the story had the setup to actually deliver a true harem ending for once (as in the MC actually marrying all the girls) which would have been very satisfying to see, so just cutting the series short before getting to that point seems like such a waste of potential

You guys can't end it here... There is still more you can do. You haven't focused much on alot of the other girls. Highly doubt you guys are tired of doing a monthly release... They're other mangaka who does this weekly.

As for the OVA it's something atleast but honestly watching that ova and knowing no more new content to come is pretty effin depressing.

If the manga is far ahead of the anime: it had a good run

(I don't read the manga, the animators are the heroes of this IP wink wink nudge nudge)

The one ecchi ever that is worth watching for ecchi's sake alone. Probably because people are working on it that know human anatomy, unlike the virgins who spew out Highschool DxD, VDM, Shinmai Maou and other trash.

This desperately needs a continuation. You can't just end it like that. There's soooo much left to explore of the premise which Darkness originally built up

This has been one of my all-time favorite manga for many years now, but I have a hard time accepting it if it's really just going to end all of a sudden like this and never get another sequel. That would be such a disappointment. A franchise that has been publishing for 11 years at least deserves a proper ending, especially one which had the potential for an absolutely incredible ending for once
