Ah, Hachi-nan tte, Sore wa Nai desho! made it to top 10 list this week. I hope the series gets more popular this year.

It's 185k up on my previous figure, which was composed of the total up to the yearly rankings for 2013 plus various figures after that, with the latest being in December 2014. The last time it appeared in the weekly rankings was in December 2012, so the last total reported directly by Oricon* was actually just 533k. I think the series has been in the top 20 series rankings almost if not actually every week for that time, though.

And yes, as commented on in last week's thread, Youjo Senki has an abnormally big drop between volumes.

*The total figure that I was using was combined of weekly rankings up to end year 2012 plus year rankings 2013 plus various extra data we got as a result of a glitched ranking on the oricon website that existed for much of 2014/15.

Though whenever these early volumes make the list, I'm reminded of just how poor the retention rate for Light Novels is, compared to manga. Like, you'd be hard pressed to find a manga where the second volume's sales barely reach three fifths of the first like is the case with Youjo Senki (though admittedly, I'm going purely based on observation).

Yeh its not exactly a big boost but its somethin, guess they managed to lure in some new fans, i just hope they dont dissapoint us and let the fans wait too long for the next season.
