Manga 'Koi to Uso' Gets TV Anime for Summer 2017

It was announced that Musawo's manga from Manga Box's Koi to Uso will get a TV anime adaptation for Summer 2017. The anime will be directed by Seiki Takuno (Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari) and produced by LIDENFILMS.

Synopsis
Lies are forbidden and love is doubly forbidden. In the near future, when young people in Japan turn sixteen, they are assigned a marriage partner by the government. People don't have to go through the trouble of looking for someone, and everyone accepts that the country will find a compatible partner to make them happy. Yukari Nejima is fifteen years old. He lives in a small corner of the country, and just can't seem to get ahead in life. Both academically and athletically, he's below average. But within him, he hides a heart burning with passion! In this world in which love is forbidden, what will happen to him when he falls in love? (Source: Manga Box)

Koi to Uso is simultaneously published in Japanese, Chinese, and English (as Love and Lies) on DeNA's Manga Box app since August 10, 2014. Kodansha Comics USA has licensed the series in print and will release the first volume on August 22, 2017.

I'm skeptical whether do they have enough content for the anime or not. 22 chapters so far....... doesn't sound like a good piece of news.

At least one thing I can be assured of: It won't be rushed since there isn't even enough content to begin with.

This type of stuff, I'd rather have them showing how they got to this point. I mean, surely people would protest lying and love (of all fucking things) being illegalised. I'd much rather have that than a forbidden love story.

terra formars before anime was 70K per volume IIRC... it's after anime it become hit...

anime adaptation is hit or miss... if they don't see high possibility to become succesful or high TV ratings, especially for high costing action packed series like this, it's too risky... and industries will automaticaly avoid something like that, but still, there is always exception to the rule...

I was planning on reading the manga so I’m not sure what to expect from this as now. It seems decent enough (or at least hope so).

I gotta say that Misaki and Lilina’s eyes are pretty frightening on that PV... those eyes will eat your soul if you stare at them long enough. I don't like them...

I found odd how they didn’t show the male MC in the PV... Instead, lets just have him as a voice-over... I mean, he is just the MC these 2 girls will love and fight over, so it’s no big deal. Yea, forget the forgettable.

I’m neutral about the director... I didn’t like how he handled Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo, but will see.

Read a few chapters.. Watched the PV.. Lol I'm not going to miss anything. Garbage. I'll pass, thou I'm sure if it gets popular, the shipping war will be hilarious just like in Nisekoi.

Sounds kind of interesting but the anime-basic MC and the line " But within him, he hides a heart burning with passion!", as well as the fact that the cover only shows two girls who at first made me assume this was a yuri, with one's tits literally the same size as her head, really turns me off.
