The official website for the band Boom Boom Satellites has announced that vocalist Michiyuki Kawashima died from complication due to a brain tumor in the very early morning of October 9, 2016.

The band sang the theme songs of Bounen no Xamdou, Appleseed (Movie), Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Ninja Slayer From Animation, and also provided music to Vexille: 2077 Nihon Sakoku. The most recent theme song was the opening to Kiznaiver "LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME," which was announced to be their very last single release due to Michiyuki Kawashima's brain tumor and partial paralysis.

This news is late, but regardless...I am so sad. I loved listening to this guy. It was him alone that really uplifted my spirits going through Ninja Slayer :sob: And even discounting that, I really don't like the news of all these news of death.

Kawashima suffered enough with his brain tumor relapses, it was only a matter of time before his body couldn't take it anymore. "LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME" is beautiful, so for it to be their last single is fitting.

I still gotta listen to more of their songs, but they were unique. Their absence makes the music industry a little more empty.

Not surprised, but saddened.
I know most people here likely remember the band from Kiznaiver (Which isn't a bad thing), but I actually recall them best for 'Push Eject' off of the Gran Turismo 2 soundtrack. Man, I loved that game and its' soundtrack.

Wow ... this news gives to "Lay Your Hands on Me" an other vibe ...

Rest in peace, Michiyuki Kawashima. You truly made an amazing work down here.

omg... I knew he was hospitalized with 4th state cancer but to pass away that fast... Man, their music was amazing, especially the last album. You can feel all that emotion coming through from his last efforts... Lay your hands is absolutely beautiful song, as Clouds and Stars is. The former is exceptionally emotional, because of the fact that his daughter is in the music video. It's like a requiem...

You will not be forgotten.

Very sad to see yet another person tied to the anime community pass away far too soon. : ( You will be cherished and remembered by your fans.

I heard that he had really complicated health problems before, but I still had hope.

Rest in Peace, Michiyuki Kawashima. You will be dearly missed.
