Visual novel developer Front Wing has announced that its upcoming work Island will be adapted into a TV anime. The visual novel is scheduled to go on sale for the PC on April 28, 2016, and is priced at 9,800 yen.

Synopsis
Urashima, an island far from the mainland. The people who live there lead carefree lives. But five years ago, the island's three great families suffered a series of misfortunes, and succumbed to suspicion. The people of the island cut off all contact with the mainland, and began a slow decline. The key to saving the island lies in three girls who belong to the three families. But they are bound by old traditions, and are conflicted. On that island, a lone man washes ashore. The man claims to be from the future, and he begins a solitary struggle to change the island's fate. (Source: ANN)

Looks pretty interesting and glad to see another Frontwing work get animated (though I wish the one with dragons gets one someday) so I will go watch this when it comes out.

Frontwing only ever made one masterpiece, and they farmed it out to the lowest bidder, they can rot for all I care

Not when they get someone like GO to do the writing, he is much better than any of Grisaia writers.

Had no idea there was a VN like this, Grisaia was darn good so maybe I'll give it a go at some point.

It seems like it's their second masterpiece. You can see here the ratings, and, as you can see, it's pretty high rated (even if there are just few voters for now).

And I recently talked to someone who finished the VN 2 days ago. He said that it is one of the best VNs ever made.

Sorry but you can't base it on Japanese voters, since they put more weight on H-scenes, moe and perversion originality tickboxes.

The actual story content won't influence the rating to a great degree until the western audience has a translated version.

This has been very evident with every lousy-story VN, for example Princess Evangile started out at like 8 when it came out on VNDB and has been dropping by 0.2 every month or two since a translation became available. And it still has a rating of 7.48! Princess Evangile!

You can start trusting the VNDB rating of a VN once it exceeds 2000 votes.

Edit: None of this even matters, the point is that it's Front Wing who already established they don't give a crap about the legacy of their work once it leaves store shelves and the bucks are made. Agreeing to an adaptation of GnK at 16.5:1 compression ratio is hilariously void of integrity.

Seems to be a all age visual novel. Not really expecting much but cute girls are always worth trying it.

It is. There aren't sex scenes or similiar stuff

Doesn't seem interesting tbh

Wouldn't be surprised if the same studio as Grisaia were to animate this. Somehow, I just got a weird Let's☆Lagoon vibe.

It would be awesome if Kyoto Animation would animate it. There hasn't been much news about the production of it, but it does seem interesting. I'll definitely watch it.

Hmm... This could be nice become, will check out... But I'm interested, which anime studio this pick up will. Though, if I the charas (or better said: the eyes) so seeing - There would probably KyouAni or P.A.Works fit for this... But let's see...xD

VN art looks great, hopefully the anime's art is great too.

Suppose its worth a try

Some shots have a Grisaia feel, might be 8bit.
Naked futureman looks questionable.

Well, the OP visuals were nice to look at.

Well but from what I heard, the adaptation of Grisaia no Rakuen was almost perfect.
well... yeah, but Meikyuu & Rakuen are also the *only* good things they've ever done

Sounds pretty interesting, and with Frontwing it should probably be good.

Also, other reactions in this thread are more predictable and boring than what anyone expects this to be. Just saying.

Sure looks like loli bait to me yet the story doesn't sound too shabby (barring the last part with the guy from the future; stupid). It's been a while since my last VN adaption so why not?
