A commercial aired during the broadcast of the final episode of Arslan Senki (TV) announced that a new TV anime based on the manga series Nanatsu no Taizai (The Seven Deadly Sins) will air in 2016. The announcement does not specify whether the new series is a sequel.

Nanatsu no Taizai, written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki, has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine since 2012. It was adapted into a 24-episode TV anime in Fall 2014, and two OVA episodes have also been released.

more mainstream cliche!
This may be a shock to you, but anime is made for the Japanese consumers, not the western world. It's only cliche to you is because it's popular and I know how western anime fans hate things that are popular. We somehow have to feel that anime is made only for niche market that only a few "overeducated" morons can understand (aka art house faggots).
So instead of watching this, please go see some artsy French film instead. That's more your speed and style.

Will watch it, I liked the first season. My only gripe with the show is they never kill anybody off just like another certain anime *cough* fairy tail *cough*

They put this on Netflix in my country so i just started watching it. Seems pretty nice, tho.

Well this is pretty good news. It's always nice to hear that a decent series is getting a second season (not that I'm surprised given the production studio and popularity.) I think it is pretty safe to speculate that this isn't a remake (here's why):

In any case, here's to the impending second series of Nanatsu no Taizai! Hopefully, unlike fairy tail, Nanatsu's second series doesn't cause the show to tank! I'd say that the likelihood of that occurring is a bit lower than in Fairy Tail's case, given than Fairy Tail had been running for a long time and the studio was trying to change things to make it feel fresh (Nanatsu is still relatively new.)

edit - grammar

What if they make it a long running series?I mean FT was originally planned to have 48 episodes, but they made it a long running series due to its immense popularity, we might get a similar situation with NNT
That would be cool, but the animation quality will degrade

Currently reading the manga right now. Will get around to watching Season 1 when I finish reading all the chapters that where adapted in the 24 episode series, so I can see the differences for myself. Still, it's good to see this series getting popular with both the manga and the anime versions in Japan. Now, if only a western company could license this series and possibly Dub it in English, that would be great.

The only problem is no company will be simulcasting it.
Since they didn't get the Season 1.
Unless it's not a sequel to S1. And fuck it if it's the case!
