Cygames Announces 'Granblue Fantasy' Anime Adaptation

Mobile application developer Cygames announced at Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2015 that its Android and iOS RPG fantasy mobile game Granblue Fantasy will be adapted into anime. Cygames producer Kouichi Haruta revealed that the animation production will be done by A-1 Pictures and Aniplex. Further details about the anime will be revealed at Cygames' September 20 stage event at TGS. Guests at that event include Miyuki Sawashiro, who voices Catalina Alize in the game.

Granblue Fantasy began its service in December 2013 on the Mobage platform and features music by Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu. It uses turn-based battles with characters of different classes gaining levels through experience and using various abilities. Animation studio Lay-duce previously produced a promotion movie for the game.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this PV was not made by A-1. It was made by Project No.9, which made the Gunslinger Stratos pilot. This was announced on their Twitter account, which also revealed that the character designs were by Hiromi Katou.

The game caught my attention for a while after glancing at the art and participating in a crossover event with it. Since it seems interesting enough I might just watch.

On a more serious note, this looks pretty neat, I like Shingeki no Bahamut so I'll give this a try since it has a cool style too.

But come on, I need ma Magi announcement already.
You better be waiting all this time because you're pouring all the budget into it, A-1..

But it's not going to look like that for the anime, we've already seen this. Is absolutely nobody paying any attention again. Why don't people read and looks at things that are right in front of them?

You can already see just by looking at the screenshots above they're not and converting it to their own usual cost cutting simple detail art style ala SAO.

God bless Cygames for all these highfantasies tho, speaking of which, I hope we get more news on Chain Chronicles soon.

Considering the only mobage adaptation to really be worth something has been Bahamut so far(and that is mainly because based MAPPA took the barebones ideas from mobage and created their own story and characters with them), the worry is well founded.

Usually it is just your generic advert full of waifus.
