There are two movies coming out this year. The song that is on the list now was just released this August.

Because they sung anime theme songs and are on the database. We decided to add those singers who sung anime theme songs before, too (Though I don't know why we have to add AKB48, though, myself because I can predict that every time AKB48 singles are on the ranking list, they would always be top on our list every time, too).

That sounds ridiculous to me. I would understand including all seiyuu releases, because they are nearly always involved with anime, but a mainstream artist such as AKB48 being listed even if their involvement in anime has been very little or only one time? How about the radio or drama CDs that are related to anime or the seiyuu who are responsible for voicing anime characters? How can they be excluded when a mainstream artist with little involvement with anime is included in the list?

In my opinion, mainstream artists should only ever be on these lists if their single is labelled as an OP/ED single (such as the Kekkai Sensen OP by BUMP OF CHICKEN), because those are obviously related to anime, even if the sales are driven by the mainstream artist rather than the anime itself.

AKB48 will always be at the top regardless, as there is no other artist that sells 1 million or more in their opening weeks. The top 3 singles this year are all AKB48, and are also the only singles to pass 1 million this year, with #4 SKE48 at 702,299 copies so far.

The Top 100 is just the preliminary/partial ranking. The full ranking is available on Wednesday night (Japan time) for CDs, where a "week of charting" means that a release has made it onto the the full ranking (Top 200 for Singles and Top 300 for albums) for that particular week.

The previous consecutive ranking streak for anime-related CDs was 79 weeks, so the Love Live Best Live collection beat that record more than a year ago, and has been extending it ever since.

It's actually quite odd that they are releasing the single first before the movie. Normally it's the other way around, so that people can get a full appreciation of the song in the work before deciding to buy.

So far, the song has only been performed in public at their live events. I did watch their concert in Osaka, but even I've forgotten what the song sounds like by now.

Also yikes at WUG. The movie single (or ED whatever) was only 3k. That doesn't bode well for the film I think (I know that CD and BD sales are not necessarily related but this is an idol anime...people want to like the songs idk)
