Good start for Shirabe's character CD. All in all Symphogear seems to be doing pretty ok. The OP/ED have slipped out, but still have three character songs hanging in there for the time being.

Unfortunately it seems CD sales are lower for Symphogear this season. Compare MIZUKI Nana's OP sales, and you'll notice just how much lower the 1st week sales are this time. I think the cumulative sales will settle around 55~56K if we base it on Vitalization, and it gets a similar tail of around 14 weeks. For TAKAGAKI Ayahi's ED, it may have started slightly higher in terms of 1st week sales, but it seems to be losing steam a lot quicker than her Next Destination single. This week it only sold 286 copies in week 6, while Next Destination sold 417 copies in week 6. This one will probably settle lower, unless it charts for longer than 8 weeks. For all the other character CDs, first week sales are all lower, except for AOI Yuuki's (slightly higher) and KAYANO Ai's (exactly the same as last season).

You are by far and away the most interesting poster to post in these threads. Thank you for continuing to share actual new and interesting information that I otherwise would have no idea about. I know I often seem like the grouchiest and most miserable poster but really I'm just fed up with seeing one liner reaction posts and always focusing on celebrating the same few artists instead of sharing actual handy information, unique opinions and discussion about them as well as the overall spectrum of artists that exist beyond what Sony Music Records is pushing for anime. It's boring to just run through the same motions all the time (for me at least) so I really am grateful, you make it bearable and worthwhile to browse these threads. MAL could really use more reasonable people like you.

I don't know if it's related but I feel like I've seen a few established artists sales go down with the rise of u's and I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or more people are just deciding to buy u's CD's instead of say Nana Mizuki or Lia.

Well, even if that is what happened, officially "COLOR" is not related to anime on this album. Taking at look at the Oricon Youtaiju entries in the spoiler tags. Even the normal Oricon website would at least tell you if one of the tracks are related to anime or not.

However, GARNiDELiA definitely are related to anime. The Japanese sales community considers 蒼井翔太's single there as the top selling anime-related single for this week, while Rhodanthe* is considered the top selling anime-related album for this week.
