Monogatari Series: Final Season's 'Owarimonogatari' Anime In-Production
The first light novel volume in Nisio Isin's Mongatari Series: Final Season, Tsukimonogatari, was announced to be in-production in October 2014, and aired as a 4-episode New Year's Eve TV Special that year. The short story collection Koyomimonogatari is the second volume, Owarimonogatari spans volumes 3-5, and the final volume Zoku Owarimonogatari completes the series. Official announcements regarding the anime adaptations of Koyomimonogatari and Owarimonogatari have yet to be made.
In 2012, Shaft announced it would be animating all of Nisio Isin's Monogatari Series. At this time, the studio had already animated the 15-episode TV series Bakemonogatari starting in Summer 2009 and the 11-episode Nisemonogatari in Winter 2012. Since the announcement, the 4-episode New Year's Eve special Nekomonogatari: Kuro, 26-episode Monogatari Series: Second Season, and 5-episode Summer special Hanamonogatari have also been broadcast.
Monogatari Series: First Season's Kizumonogatari is the only skipped adaptation in volume-order, despite its initial announcement in 2010 and a subsequent movie premiere date for 2012. When Kizumonogatari's anime adaptation will air remains unknown.

I couldn't stand the end of Koyomigatari so I read ahead. Shit's gonna get serious soon. XD
And we aren't getting the (final?) novel Musubimonogatari in 2016 after all. January 12th it comes out.

They still have to make Owarimonogatari s2, Zoku (4 ep special?) and Off Season but Shaft is busy with Kizumonogatari movie 3 and 3gatsu no Lion so I'm not expecting more Monogatari TV series until at least spring 2017, maybe later.

Nice. I hope this will be a full TV series given the length although I'm not sure since I haven't read the material myself yet. Interested in it though.
yeah..a tv series and not just a movie is really more interesting

Hey guys,
I'm a bit curious about the length of this series and hoping some of you may be able to answer it. Basically why has this series had so many anime adaptations? I am not saying this series is bad at all. But what I am saying is (I am sure we can all agree), many times good works have been adapted into an anime however rarely do they get a second season. Meanwhile this particular series has had upwards of four full length adaptations. Why is this (popularity, proper finances etc...)?
It's sold fuck tons of blu rays.
Alright so blue ray sales are quite high. Thank you!

1-Because it sells a lot while other anime don't.
2-Because there is material left to adapt.

makes sense since they have nothing to air
now for the episode count
I hope they just burn her on threw to the ending, since the last volume is called Zoku-Owarimonogatari. Probably be a two cour for the finale.
