Otome Game Hakuouki To Be Animated [Confirmed]

At Otomate Party 2009 held on July 26th, Playstation2 otome game "Hakuouki" was announced to get an anime adaptation.

Hakuouki is a historical game featuring Shinsengumi.

Awesome. The anime world needs more otome/reverse harem anime than the few we have. I don't know anything about Hakuouki, but I've seen a lot of scans from it that are gorgeous. Heres hoping this will be a great anime and not something really bland like Neo Angelique Abyss.

I was expecting that..

Its been awhile since a samurai/shinsengumi anime was last aired. I wonder how it will turn out. I get a feeling that some of the main characters will turn out as nothing more but murderers. If you look at it positively, the samurai tends to be associated with honor and pride, while the shinsengumi are associated with justice but nowadays, that sort of thing is rather unpopular in animes.
