It will be announced in the 27th volume of Chihayafuru, that the manga will receive a live-action movie adaptation.

Seiyuu Kaori Sadohara Goes on Hiatus
Production Ace's official site announced that the seiyuu will halt future activities due to vocal cord exhaustion. The length of her hiatus was not announced.

Same lol. I've been waiting for the new anime season for so long. The only reason I like this series even because I really like the anime when I start watching it. I doubt I will like the series if I ever start from reading the manga.
The manGa look so messy and hard to read. Plus the character design even not as good as the anime.

About the live action not so excited about it. I have watched many Japanese film and their acting really look awkward. I kinda pictured instead of a card someone getting slapped during the heat of the karuta battle. :D

Anyway, this is still good news, though I was hoping for a new anime.

I'm not very optimistic about a 3rd season to b honest. When is the last time a manga got an anime adaptation then a live adaptation then another anime adaptation? Has that even ever happened before? And Chihayafuru's 2nd season sold ok I guess, but it wasn't like 10k+, so why would they go back to another anime adaptation? Could be wrong, but another anime adaptation seems less likely.

Can't wait for Boruto movie yet The Last is still not available.
3rd season of Chihayafuru is what I would have preferred, but oh well. Will watch the live-action movie.

Sad to see Kaori Sadohara have to take a hiatus from voice acting due to vocal chord exhaustion. I quite like her voice in some of the roles she's played. Hopefully it really is exhaustion and nothing more serious than that.

And sweet. A Chihayafuru live-action.
