New 'Aria' Anime Announced [Update 2/8]

A new anime for the healing Aria series, titled Aria the Avvenire, was announced to screen during an event on September 26th. The type of the new anime is still unknown. Original staff members Junichi Sato (director, series composer) and Reiko Yoshida (script writer) will also be working on the new anime.

This announcement is the first part of the 10th anniversary project Ao no Curtain Call, celebrating 10 years since the first TV broadcast. It was up briefly on the official site on February 3rd, but was quickly taken down.

The Aria series received 3 seasons, Aria the Animation, Aria the Natural, and Aria the Origination between 2005 to 2008, with several specials and OVA episodes also released. A BD box of the TV series was also announced.

Update February 8
It was announced via the official site that character designs will be done by Masayuki Onji and that the series will be animated by studio TYO Animations.

Well, this at least confirms that it'll be taking AFTER Origination since you can spot out Ai along with Akari's new look at the end of Origination

Everyone else is the same, and the website shows Akari both ways.
My guess is that Akari is training Ai and has flashbacks of the old times.
Hopefully there's some new music made for this new project. I guess the teaser confirms Choro Club, but the song shown is just the same old one.

So today I found out Gintama has a new season and now I find out Aria will soon too :O

Every time I start to lose some interest in anime..sequels keep dragging me back :P

Yep, that's what I heard as well.
There's no new VA listed (for both singing and acting roles) anywhere, so either they gonna make her appearances VERY brief where there's no need for dialogue, or do some remixing with older records.

I'm still thinking it'll just be an OVA to commemorate the anniversary of Aria and its blu-ray.

Well, even if it is an OVA, I'm hoping it'll get at least 2-3 episodes. More Aria is always nice.

Problem is, she passed away a couple of years ago, so I'm wondering how they're going to feature her. Wonder if they're gonna pull a Tupac and grab prerecorded clips from awhile back or something. Anyone have any idea?

I heard they're just going to borrow her voice from previous series, like her laughs and maybe very brief lines. They're probably going to give her as few lines as possible in this new series.
