Well, since I didn't like the original, thus don't care about it, I'm pumped as HELL for this. So far, I love everything I've seen. I was actually happy when I saw they weren't going with the corny bird suits.

pumped for this show, not familiar with the og so I probably won't be disappointed or rage.

The suits look killer. Gives me slight Dead Space/Crysis vibes. Really psyched about this.

See I could never understand that mentality. This series won't change anything about the older ones either way. And it could turn out to be a great adaptation. Though I'm sure we're all expecting it to be very different from the original series. I'm more excited to see that not only is Nakamura directing it but it's also a pure Tatsunoko Productions title. They don't seem to produce many modern series these days but it's truly a cool studio worthy of respect.

OST by Taku Iwasaki (Jormungand, Katanagatari, Gurren Lagann). I really like his work.

Oh, finally, more artwork! Looks neat. The blond guy look so ... tsundere. My curiosity about how they will go about it is killing me.

And the heroine will be voiced by the up-and-coming Uchida Maaya !! (Rikka in Chuunibyou, Mao in GJ-bu, Rei in Vividred, also Sankarea)

Also Frenda in Railgun S. She has quite a range.

This is one of the upcoming shows I'm interested in but also highly skeptical about. It's always interesting to see old stuff come back and be re-imagined, it's another thing entirely when it looks to bear zero resemblance to it's source and appears to be the "in name only" type. I have nothing against a female protagonist (it worked fine for Lupin III: Mine no Fujiko which was awesome), what I do have an issue with is nothing they have shown so far tells me why I should consider this a Gatchaman or Tatsunoko Superhero series. Also this whole Tsuritama team thing does nothing for my interests like some as I just plain never saw that show and have little interest in it. Also not a huge fan of Maaya Uchida at all and have yet to see a role where she stands out as anything other than cutesy girl who does cutesy things and I'm sorry but those shows just aren't for me and casting her is another question mark for me.

Gonna wait till I see a trailer and this project proves once and for all whether it really has basis in the original, but I'm starting to get bait and switch vibes here like this is another one of those series where they try to hook people using a classic franchise name and then the show has absolutely nothing to do with that franchise and is just a humdrum show about daily life. Really don't feel like getting tricked into watching another one of those when I just plain don't find them interesting so I hope it's more than that. I'm fine with a new direction, just please please don't be boring.

The only thing I don't like is that green haired girl in bikini. Seriously... no, please.
But anyway, I'm definitely in.

At first I thought that it's April 1st joke. Then I've noticed the date and realized that it's not.
Poor Gatchaman purists (I know one in RL), they'll be at rage. And even moderate fans of Gatchaman will be, I guess, disappointed by new lead. By the way, here is picture of main heroine, which isn't Jun but "Hajime Ichinose" (dark-haired girl, I guess) and someone else, unfamiliar too.

I am definitely checking this out. I am going to need to see how this relates to the original gatchaman, though. It's probably not going to a next generation squad, though, since this anime is being called a spinoff.
