New OVA of Seitokai Yakuindomo Announced [Update Mar 7]

According to the cover note of the seventh volume of the comic book, another OVA of Seitokai Yakuindomo was announced. It will be bundled with the eighth volume to be released next year.

Update September 21
According to Weekly Shonen Jump, two more OVA will be released in the spring and summer of 2013.

Update March 7th
According to the official website, the release dates of the two OVAs are May 8th and July 10th.

I believe it says 7 because that's the amount of episodes that have been announced. They aren't all released yet though.

Pretty much, and IMO the OVA route is smart. Making a 1 cour series can be money wasting if it doesn't sell like intended, doing it this way is a much safer alternative, and gives us fans more SYD.

People complaining about a new season, you realize with this announcement, that's technically halfway thru the second season :P Hell, we almost at the point where a THIRD season would be needed.

I'm just happy that episodes for this anime are continuing to be made at all.

I'll be looking forward to watching the new OVAs next year.

The theory now is that making OVA and bundled it with the manga tankobon is more profitable than committing to a whole cour (with the extra cost of getting the TV broadcast slots) and not knowing if the whole series can sell or not. Since SYD follows quite closely to its original manga contents, perhaps they think that without previously watching it fans would still be persuaded to buy the anime when it comes out.

There's like what? 4 OVAs already? That's crazy for an anime to have so many OVAs and yet no second season yet, Usually most anime only get 1 or 2
