Death of a legend. Thank you for all your amazing works.

Industry-related, this is the saddest news, for me, since Satoshi Kon's passing.

Ishiguro-san, I was honored forever to have known you in person. That I will never get the chance to see you again and actually bring an LOGH Laserdisc box for you to sign is an overwhelmingly sad thing.

I should have known something was up when I strangely brought you up at my presentation earlier today in class. You have passed from this world, leaving many great things in your wake. Including one highly-inspired man writing this post. I will never forget you, nor the stories and personal thoughts you were willing to share. May your vision of animation continue to be shared by others.

The cherry blossoms were there to sail your soul away, at least.

Sayonara Ishiguro-dono.

Rest in peace, Ishiguro-san.

I was looking forward to meeting you, shaking your hand, and asking where the idea behind naming the 'Tlahuixcalpantecuhtli' in LoGH. I was looking forward to praising you for your work on Macross and Yamato, two of my 'oldies' favorites.

It's been a pleasure having you bring new life into our world, sir, and you shall be missed. Hopefully even though you won't be attending Animazement 2012 now, people will still take time to offer condolences and announce it at the event.
