Funimation has announced a deal with Geneon to distribute many of their titles in North America. Geneon pulled out of the North American market late last year leaving many of their shows in limbo.

Specific titles mentioned as part of the deal include Hellsing Ultimate, Ergo Proxy, Black Lagoon, Karin, Kyo Kara Maoh Season 2, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Elemental Gelade, Fate Stay Night, Kamichu, Ninja Vixens, Paradise Kiss, Rozen Maiden, Rozen Maiden Traumend, Shana, Shonen Onmyouji, The Familiar of Zero, The Story of Saiunkoku, When They Cry, and The Law of Ueki.

Lovely news! I'm glad to hear this covers some previously-released titles along with those in limbo -- I'll not only be able to pick up Saiunkoku and perhaps Nanoha and KKM but also get another chance to grab ParaKiss.

Does that means stalled series like Karin and Higurashi will be continued/finished?

I believe so, why would FUNi release it otherwise? =P

Edit: Holy shit, I just saw the news story that you were talking about, tainteddonut. It does indeed seem like a Funi monopoly on the R1 market is imminent ^^

I just saw it too, daaamn...

Looks like Funimation is going to completely rule the R1 market eventually, if things keep on going like this.
