Serei no Moribito was licensed by Geneon Entertainment back in 2006, but finally Serei no Moribito found a new home with Media Blasters. Media Blasters added the announcement in as an Easter egg on the new Kite Liberator DVD. This is the actually Geneon first title to find a new home.

This is good news, I'll be keeping an eye out for the DVD release.

I don't know about that though, stayatari, there are some really bad ones out there (Death Note OP2?).

No word on a DVD release yet. There are a few interesting things to note that John Sirabella (MB founder) mentioned in a post at AnimeonDVD.com though

John Sirabella said:
That is true...not interested in partially released series from Geneon. I do have two more Geneon titles that I have not announced yet but again never started. Not to be mean but one of the reasons I do not want a partially released titles is ... if these titles were doing so well why did Geneon go bye bye. I am sure if they were selling well...Geneon would still be here...kind of logical.

Seirei was expensive but a no brainer....dub and sub already done...gaurantee cartoon network broadcast as already negotiated before us...so how much more of a slam dunk can you want. It was not d-rights but dentsu we got it from. There is the irony as from what I see they were going to start releasing I think Geneon could have made a comeback with some changes in the way they ran the operation and the shows in the horizon for them.

Last the show is great...reminds me of 12k in terms of quality.

With sub and dub done already the only reason I'd imagine things would be held back is to wait for the Cartoon Network broadcast. It would give them a chance to rope in some more fans to sell more DVDs.

3 cheers for more Geneon license rescues!
