Thank you so much, Jeffrey! Yeah, I know, I'm starting to feel close to 30! One of the secretaries at work even told me she thought I was 32. Maybe it's because I give a serious, mature vibe (that's what I tell myself :P).

I'm glad to hear your lungs are functioning. I can't remember if I have ever asked you this, but do you smoke? I'll be waiting for good news about your heart (it is a big heart, or so I imagine it, therefore it shall definitely handle a little speed).

That's right, my former bosses wanted me to keep playing the role of the only trainee lawyer at the firm, doing errands for the other lawyers when they didn't feel like it and stuff like that. But I was no longer a trainee so it wouldn't be fair to me. When I figured out I wouldn't be improving in any way, I booked an interview with a recruitment agency specialized in lawyers and then they recommended me to the law firm I work for today. Fortunately it all went well and I left the other firm.

Lol, it is so funny that you remember my thoughts on men. Lack of maturity is still a common issue. However this time the guy in question had a marijuana addiction. It was very surprising, because I thought all pot-heads would be losers with no real goals in life, but this one was actually a lawyer with responsabilities and he seemed to function well. However he didn't function in all the fields required, so goodbye became the only option.

Well, I don't feel like the "warrior of justice" I pictured when I was younger, but I work hard in defending my clients' rights whenever there is a window of defense. Yes, I do feel very nervous, but I love it. Whenever I have a court hearing I feel this rush of adrenaline, for having to address the judge, for not knowing what might happen, for fear of blowing it... But to me that's the climax of working as a lawyer. I would let you rot in jail if I ever found out you came to Lisbon without letting me know :P

I'm still watching GoT, of course! What do you think will happen to Jon Snow? He's definitely coming back, isn't he? About movies, the last ones I've watched were "Slow West" (mildly entertaining), "Far from the Madding Crowd" (it totally matched my sort of movie, but it lacked depth and excitement), "The Maze Runner" (very good for a teen survival movie) and "The Godfather" (can you believe I've never watched it until a couple of days ago? what a sin! I loved it!). And now a gift for you:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyKWUTwSYAs&feature=youtu.be

I'm sorry to hear that, but your health is the priority of course. Please let me know when you find a job, I know it's none of my business, but it would make me truly happy.

Have a nice summer! :)

It's good to know you're better, but have you recovered 100%? I've never been hospitalized either, it must have been very difficult for you and your family. Please take care of yourself!

You're very kind to say that, it's always nice to hear from you too. I definitely do not mind you asking, it was mostly the pressure of the final Bar exams, some tension at work (my ex-"bosses" wanted to keep treating me like an intern and I would not accept that, which led to some confrontation) and also a doomed romantic relationship. Nothing real serious, as you can see. I'm actually a little ashamed of telling you this after hearing about your terrible pneumonia.

Thanks :) Yes, law practice is becoming what I hoped it would be. I've started going to trials by myself (that's litigation), which is what I've always wanted to do. I've never worked with criminal law, I have close colleagues who do and I enjoy listening to the stories behind the cases, but that's not my cup of tea.

I think you've already recommended "Attack on Titan" to me, isn't it too violent? I'm not surprised, Sasuke has always been a gigantic pain in the ass. Does he end up marrying Sakura? Does Naruto end up with the blue-haired girl? Did you like the ending? No, stay away from Sailor Moon Crystal, I've watched the first arc and dropped it. The only good thing about it is the lack of fillers, other than that it's bad.

I won't do anything special for my birthday, I think I've passed that phase.

How's that job hunting going? I'm still waiting for those news! Congrats on your team winning the Super Bowl!

Poison_Ivy Jul 4, 2015 12:00 PM
Hey JT :) How have you been?

I'm sorry for my awfully long silence. 2014 was a tough year, with a lot going on at the same time. I've lost track of many things.

I've become a lawyer and moved to a bigger law firm this past January. I'm working in civil litigation, which is the practice area I like the most.

I think I spent more than a year without watching any anime. Last month I've decided to watch something and picked (surprise, surprise) a true shoujo, Ao Haru Ride. I won't recommend it to you, because I'm sure you would find it boring, but for me it was a nice sort of comeback.

What is your take on recent anime? Am I missing any gems?

Thanks a lot for the birthday wishes, Mr. 30.

If Pats beat the Colts I am quitting football.
Mr-Freeman May 7, 2014 12:55 PM
THAT SUPERBOWL L0L!!!!!!!!! Never been so sad at Peyton in my life.

I havent tried them sadly. I will be getting a PS4 soon though, once I start my new job. I've just been playing D3, but not Reaper of Souls. League of Legends is still to fun to not play.

I like your profile pic btw, haha. Love that show right now, really need to read the books though.

I'd say the Broncos are the best at the moment. It is all dat free weed in the high. bring a new meaning to mile high.

Great family room machine, havent had a chance to try it out yet tho. Not even worth trying the Steam OS on anything other than a computer mean for media only.

Yeah everyone keeps comparing this pickup to the Ledger one, hope they are all right. And from what I can tell this is a joint movie with Superman ye? After watching the Man of Steel I hope they pick a better Superman.

Well OF COURSE I'll watch the Sailor Moon remake! I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm definitely curious. Are you really willing to give it a try? I guess I don't know your taste that well after all ^^

You're not the first to recommend the infamous "Troll 2" to me, I'll have to check it out someday. Hahaha, those eyebrows have a life of their own. I don't have a profile on YT, but here's one of my favorite videos (I've watched it countless times): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aaubVlhNK4 About the aerobics instructor movie? I bet it's the kind of movie that deserves to be dubbed in order to be watched in all its glory.

And I still haven't seen "The Hobbit" yet! I have to watch it soon if I still want to catch "The Desolation of Smaug" on the big screen. Superman III does look terrible, I don't like the character enough to go through that. Jay-Z's sounds were fresh, but no soundtrack could save "The Great Gatsby" for me and that means a lot coming from a DiCaprio fan. I enjoy sci-fi, "Blade Runner", "Minority Report" and "Prometheus" are among my favorites. I just don't like it when it gets so technical that I can't understand any of the characters' conversations. What are your sci-fi recommendations?

I'm glad you enjoyed the article about Lisbon, it's a little hyped but most of it is true.

What do you mean by being restless? Are you expecting something? I'm recovering from a huge cold right now, but other than that I'm fine, thanks.

[I did it! ^^]

I'm far from being active in the nightlife scene. I do enjoy to spend a night dancing from now and then, it's fun, it helps freeing the mind from stuff and it also kills some of my work-related stress. But the key words here are "from now and then", because I get tired of clubbing very easily, which probably stems from the fact that I don't drink (I'm a ginger ale/apple cider kind of person) and I don't smoke marijuana nor anything capable of messing with my senses. So, since I'm usually the only person who's fully aware of what's going on from start to finish, and I don't have the patience to put up with friends who are drunk or high, I can only do it when I really need a night out, which generally happens only a few months later.

Thanks for the young and smart remark, it's always nice to be reminded that I still have the world to conquer, as you do.

Oh, you did mention before that you couldn't swim. I can't ride a bicycle. I guess we both have things we should work on before we hit 30 (and the pressure is on, Mr. 28goingon29!). I never tried a tanning salon; I made my peace with my porcelain doll look. Women with straight hair would love to have curls; women with brown eyes would rather have them blue; women with small breasts would kill to have big ones, and vice-versa, and so on. We're never fully satisfied with what we have. But far more important than what something looks like is the way you look at it. That's what we should all be focusing on.

If you were meaning to resolve the issue of not being in great beach shape in August, I can only assume that in December you have already made great progress! I admit, this sentence was intentionally evil, but that's only because I can't wait to hear you say: "Hey Ivy, I got myself a job, I'm taking a Brazilian hottie out on a date next Friday and my abs look better than ever!" I agree, if attractive women love the beach, you need to get familiar with sea and sand, if only to cater to your future girlfriend's interests. Portugal has the largest seacoast in Europe, so the beaches are awesome.

I've moved to Lisbon when I was 7, it's where I feel at home. My dad's the typical bon vivant kind of guy, a 63-year-old man who will never grow up. And a child doesn't really know how to take care of another child, so our relationship has only improved over the years, as I grew older. I'm definitely not messy, I am VERY organized and my room is always tidy. I can't cope with mess. When I said I wasn't prone to housework I meant that I don't like it, not that I don't know how to do it. I can't remember the last thing I cooked - I guess that tells a story, lol.

Is it hard for you to live far from your dad and sister? It may seem like a dumb question, but my healthy relationship with my father depends on the distance between us, so it might not be so stupid after all. Did you end up attending the NY Comic Con? If so, how was it?

Okay "Team Oona", we agree to disagree! :P "Sugar coat" is such a funny expression, thanks for enhancing my vocabulary! It's my friend's features, but of course she's not beyond repair! No one is! I might have been a little too certain about how I think she looks like, but it is a matter of taste. Yes, looks do matter, but the great thing is that a person's personality and attitude influence the way we see them. I met a guy once whom I didn't find good-looking (at all), until he started talking and laughing and reacting - I was even surprised when the thought of him, as a potential candidate, crossed my mind. He wasn't attractive when he was standing still; but he was very, very charming in motion.

[to be continued]

I'm alive! And I will answer your longest comment ever! I'll follow your advice of a two part reply.

Meanwhile, in case you are slightly curious, here's a cool article about where I live:

Welp they are 3-0 thus far, looking like ESPN is wrong again! Giants v Panthers...How can a team let Eli get sacked 7 times?!

Nah i dont think I will buy BF4 until the price goes down. I am not picking up either -- I think. Been doing a lot of traveling so I dont see a reason for a console at this point, plus I just upgraded my computer which set me back quite a bit.

Jojo has a really good story, but the translators have like the worst scans possible, so I quit reading.

I gave her Control-Alt-Delete volume 1 & 2 that I had lying around. Don't know if reading webcomics will transition into comics very well, but we will see. Yeah, the Green Lantern Secret Origin book that I might let her read as well.

Thoughts on Ben Affleck as Batman?
Mr-Freeman Aug 23, 2013 10:05 PM
Lakers are in denial mode and the Clips are overrated in my opinion and the Nets just got older, so I think that was a win for the Celtics.

Been playing Battlefield 3 a lot lately since the Humble bundle came out with it. Next is the long prolonged Skyrim haha. Found any new comics? This girl I know is reading Beyond Wonderland, might give that a shot, also another girl wants to get into comics, should I just let her read Green Lantern?
