Football TV Anime 'Ginga e Kick off!!' Announced

According to Nikkan Sports, NHK has announced a new TV anime series "Ginga e Kick-off!!". It's based on Kawabata Hiroto's novel "Gunga no World Cup" and the first episode will be aired on April 7th. The protagonist is a boy who had belonged to a football club, which was dissolved due to the lack of members. He meets a professional player of the women's football league and decides to reorganize the club.

I wish this was anime about them playing American football instead. Wouldn't make any sense, but that would be what was so great about it.

Meh, didn't really like the character designs. I just hope it's not an Inazuma Eleven v2 (which is actually not that bad for a kids' show, but not my piece of cake).

No no, football is the word Americans think they made up themselves, but actually stole from the Brittish, because they wanted another word for their special form of Rugby, but when they couldn't come up with a nice name themselves, they just took football and hoped no one would notice it.

Soccer and Baseball are popular in Japan. Expect mainly those two. Sport's anime's are more about character development most of the time anyway.

Except Prince of Tennis. (It's not even Tennis anymore. XD)
