Madoka's the most overrated show in the last 10 years, or at least one of the most overrated shows in the last 10 years.
Took a glance at your list out of curiosity, and...did you drop Madoka at ep 2, or finish it and just never got around to updating your list?
If you did watch more, please ignore me. If not... I dunno. Everyone has their own tastes, and I'm nowhere near impartial on this. But please consider giving it another shot? Madoka doesn't really start to show its true colors 'til an episode or two after you dropped it.
And your username is really oddly relevant, given the subject matter.
(Anyone posting after me: please don't spoil it for him, just on the off chance he does decide to continue?)

i know how the market works
If you did, you wouldn't compare the sales of Unicorn to Madoka as if they meant anything, let alone implied some deficiency in Madoka's sales. You're ignoring the differences in formats. Compare Madoka to other TV series, not to major OVAs (and Unicorn is even one of the best selling OVAs, to boot). Madoka is the third best selling late-night TV anime in history (behind Evangelion and Bakemonogatari, I generally don't count something like World of Golden Eggs but add that too if you want) , measured by the initial disc release averages (i.e. not counting multiple boxsets released over years and such). The sales of the Unicorn OVA have no relation to that at all.
forgetting sales what has made more
Please stop posting on topics you don't fully understand. You'll just confuse other posters who aren't familiar with this stuff and might be misled into thinking you're making a reasonable comparison.
my views come form some one i what make more meny ofr the industry not direct sales DVD/BR only
im not making direct comparability views of the anime im gundam if year on year the bieegst money maker so sunrise have more money than the low amout UHF[light night] anime gets via ad s and such but thats one way all the anime have advanting over OVa cuase the fact that they have more direct in come than Via any ova cuase of sponsorship and ad revenue
my of had comment is based on all the hype that madoka has got not only on here but around the real world anf if you consider the fatc that most of the hype in either newtype this was AGE focused rather than UC focused
and i know for a rock soild fact that UHF anime rely more on sales then normal tv anime do cuase they would not make there budget back otherwise in TV ratings = income and most UHF done evne get a .5- 1.3 1/4 hour share
and BTW Eva time slot was changed arpd episode 14 it was a Prime time 1700 - 2259] block anime just to say

to took modoka four volumes to sell what gundam did in 2 so as i say gundam wins
Haha, your ignorance of how the anime market works is adorable.
i know how the market works
you also fail to see my views of UHF anime is only a scuuses if it seals well and hw higly rated madoka is im shocked gundam outsold it so badly based on hype
if you talk about distribution than gundam should win my miles but iif youn consider that in japan anyway it got theater release and got ok gross then it sold only 200000 thats low

It's overrated because there was no anime as genre-breaking(and good looking I suppose) in recent years.(to my knowledge)
And it certainly is not bad, for a 12 episoded series it wrapped everything nicely and the characters were likable as well...... It's good, and it probably is the best anime in spring

Proofread please, I can barely tell what you're saying.
Well no shit. o_O Hey guys, mega popular Sunrise shows sell more than most late night anime! This is breaking news!
Uh, no. Most late night anime is paying the TV stations for broadcast time. Airing on TV is a net cost for most of these shows. A cost of doing business, because you need to get on TV to get seen.
...And it sold phenomenally, shockingly, historically well by every imaginable measure. Its sales lived up to its reputation and then some. You still haven't clarified what, exactly, you expected it to sell. Your concept of the magnitude of normal sales for TV anime seems skewed, or entirely missing.
Who said anything about ratings? Ratings are completely worthless for late night anime and were being ignored for a reason.
Yes, I know, but it's the kind of anime that would air late night under any other circumstances and it's clunky to make verbal exceptions for the handful of otaku-targeted/otaku-leaning shows that air before
midnight like Eva or Nichigo anime.
based on its hype i expexred Madoka to sell at lest 80- 100 thousand per vol per year
