Release of Gundam Unicorn Volume 3 Postponed Due to Overflow of Pre-orders

According to the official blog of Oguro Yuichiro, the chief editor of Anime Style, the release of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn Blu-ray & DVD volume 3 was postponed until April 7th. It was previously announced to be released on March 18th. Bandai explained the reason that they have received unexpectedly large number of pre-orders and it has become difficult to secure the production lines.

The special premiere at the theaters and the pay-streaming on PlayStaion Network will be available from March 5th as scheduled. According to the official twitter, the limited sales of the blu-ray at the theaters has barely got the green light. The number of the discs to be sold at the theaters are still remained to be determined.

nope. hellsing actually had a compelling story and badass characters.

anyway, not caring about the news. When it comes to anything gundam this is to be expected.as japan is crazy on this franchise.

Honestly I think that Gundam Unicorn does have a compelling story, as for characters I think they're bent towards realism. However I respect what your opinion is.

The third movie is already done or will be gold for the march release, so it's just a delay for the current BR release as they are working on the next one already.

I wish that one time in my life I could read a discussion without some idiotic post as this one...

nope. hellsing actually had a compelling story and badass characters.

At the initial rate, the 6th episode would have been released Oct. 2012. If the postponements also happen for the next episodes the 6th would be released in 2013 LOL

the psn streaming one is what will get fansubbed first anyway so the delay doesn't affect us unless you wnated it in br quality asap...

It's not Bandai's fault. It's simple economics. An overflowed number of pre-orders shows that Unicorn is HIGH in demand fan-wise. Good thing I was reviewing my macroeconomics yesterday.

One would think Bandai would be prepared for this since they've been printing money off the Gundam franchise for 30 years now. Shame on them for underestimating the demand.
