why has Totoro become so popular now? Don't get me wrong, i absolutley love it, but it's just kinda randomly up there on the list. O.o

Pay attention. You see the digits next to it's weekly sales? yeah, over 1 million sales. I think it's the highest on there. There's not way it was "suddenly popular". It has probably been popular in the past. Just spectulations

Pleasantly surprised to see Usavich on the list.

Fate>Zero lower than Guilty Crown?
Must be false info.

you do realize that oath signs total sales is higher than guilty crowns cd sales. its because the guilty crown one just got released whereas oath sign was released beforehand. someone needs to reread the numbers

It's pretty much been there since it came out, more or less.

I'm glad Gundam Unicorn's doing well.

I'm more interested in another thing: what should Manglobe do to make a success? Nor of their animes broke even 4k sales. Their nor a bad studio(a lot of people think quite opposite) and they tried to work on quite diffrent titles but still had no success.

> I understand what you're saying, but "and adapted perfectly" is precisely the bit that is attributable to the studio. KyoAni and Key are pretty inseparable in fans' minds now, so studio loyalty plays a huge role. Just imagine the collective gasp of shock from fandom if anyone other than KyoAni were to animate Little Busters. We even have a great controlled experiment: Kanon's sales more than doubled between Toei's adaptation and KyoAni's.

I agree with that mainly. i dont see any other studio to adapt Little Busters or Tomoyo's After. But still. Angel Beats was adapted by P.A.Works(it's not the VN but it was combined project with Key and VN is in planes) and they were a huge success. And more: White Fox helped KyoAni with their latest work, ReWrite(so it would be more logical to make them adapt it).

@jmal

The reason is not the studio. Key trilogy was extremely popular and adapted perfectly. But yes, it's more like an exception.

but there are some other cases which don't fit in your description like Kimi ga Nozomu Eien or Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteriu: both had quite large(even if not so great as Clannad/Kanon/Air) sales.

Another slow week. I feel bad for TWGOK and even more for Manglobe. I don't think they'll make a success with Mashiro-iro

Glad to see Gintama up there! Really have to back to it soon ^^;

Oh ! Yeah ! I want to watch it ))

Dammit TWGOK. They haven't even animated half of what I consider to be the "prologue" material. At Manglobe's rate, it would have taken 2-3 more 1-cour seasons for the plot to start picking up and shit start hitting the fan. OTL
