Complete SJ and shoujo mainstream yawndom domination, Gantz and Shingeki aside. Ugh.

It surprises me that Shingeki came out of nowhere and sold so well when it's more seinen than shounen, in terms of its content. At least it proves that even something rejected by SJ can still sell...

One piece deserves these sales... Volume 61 has sold 3million copies! I think this a record in Japan...

Overall, Gantz > Naruto

well there was a huge marketing campaign at the start of the year by Shueisha after OP reached 200 millon prints which explains why the earlier vol. still sales with ridiculous numbers^^

gantz obviously sold a ton because its movie and stuff came out.

Shingeki no Kyojin was not popular until vol.3 came out in nov and over night it started a incredible sales run and took over from FT as Kodansha number one manga.

I did expect OP to win by great margin and it seems that when this year is over, OP will break his own record of 32 million copies sold in 2010. I did not, however, expect to see Gantz on 2nd place. It's also funny because there are no Gantz volumes in top 50 volumes of 2011. I guess those two Gantz movies really did help with manga sales.

It's also very nice to see all 4 volumes of completely new manga there, I am talking about Shingeki no Kyojin, some people are really hyping that series.

The other things being sold are mostly the expected, I never knew Shingeki no Kyojin was that popular, though...
