Dubbed as one of Jump's "Unholy Trinity", Bleach epitomizes the typical action shonen manga--fighting, fighting, fighting, fighting, and did I say fighting? Brainless power level tripe. To be fair, fighting manga can also be great, if it could be balanced with a well-crafted plot and sublime character development. Too bad Bleach also epitomizes the term "mediocrity" and what's more, wallows in it in an almost deliberate fashion(Despite being my gateway back to being an active fan of manga and anime in general).

Bleach's story is generic shonen tripe. Boy lives a normal high school life, girl pops up out of nowhere, turns out the boy has ...

Like a flutter of a butterfly’s wing, Kubo has created the dynamic of a life after death scenario, twisting people’s minds and imaginations throughout its journey with surprises, questions, and a bold statement of what happens after we leave this world. Invisible forces play into the scenes, grasping a hold of reality and raining out a massive event that not even humans can comprehend. Sparks fly as metal swords clash. Tears fall down pale cheeks. Romances bloom like a soft flower petal in the spring. People think there is nothing after life, but they are wrong. Death is only the beginning.

Well... A prime example of how looks can be deceiving. Bleach looked good, oh so very good. In the long run it is one of the few manga I have regrets about reading.

Bleach is another overrated Shounen manga. Sucked in by another promising plot Bleach follows a young man named Kurosaki Ichigo, a high school boy who can see spirits. One day a girl who claims shes a shinigami comes into his life and everything changes. This grabbed my attention for the first little while until the story started getting repetitive.

The author of this manga goes through the same process twice over and that has ...

Bleach- also known as "Blah"

Intro:
Basic story starter. "____ is your typical high school student but one day his life is changed forever when he meets a "mysterious" girl who gives him the power to defend and save humanity. In the process he is practically dragged into her world and has no choice but to interfere." Does this sound cliche to you? No duh.

Story: Above Average --> Disappointing --> Nonexistent
Plot like most long running shounen follow the arc-based-plot. Okay.. I have to admit it the first quarter of the plot was good. Ichigo's introduction to the world of Shinigami's was quite amusing and entertaining. ...

Bleach
One of the top 3 Shounen mangas in popularity. It suffers the same problem the Naruto does: it starts with good smaller arcs, with puns and some character development, or at least a well driven long one ( which I totally recommend reading), and then goes into the infamous, unending and slow advancing Deicide\Arrancar Arc which could have been summarized in an 8th part of it's length.

I must admit that I stopped reading after finishing that second arc, as the next one didn't quite hook me a lot. This means I'm not doing this manga justice by reviewing only the first part of ...

To start off with Bleach I think its a good manga in the beginning; it had a lot of potential and was doing a good job in my opinion in the beginning. I started watching it first I believe on Toonami back when it was late and on adult swim, so wanted to get into the manga.

In my opinion if it had ended possibly after the Hueco Mundo arc it possibly could have ended on a better note. From the beginning till the end of Hueco Mundo arc everything in a sense kind of lines up together and although the art work was a bit ...

Bleach. Use it only on your clothes, and not on your eyes or mind. Bleach WAS a good manga/anime until the end of the SS arc. After that, a plethora of sudden and raw characters are introduced - no exposition asked - and they bring with them their "interesting" plot devices. Except they aren't interesting: they're repetitive and confusing. To top it all off, the protagonist becomes emasculated after the end of said arc; all his training and exercise go to waste as these sudden entrants all seem to be Goliath to his David, except that this time, David has no more rocks. Almost ...

If I could sum Bleach up with one phrase, it would be "wonderful art, terrible story."

I'll start off with the good news: seven years later, Tite Kubo has not sacrificed a single bit of artwork quality for Bleach. One of the best things about Bleach is it's imaginative character design. No two characters have the same fighting style, and it really is amazing the level of detail that goes into shading, considering most mangas with over one billion kazillion chapters like Bleach tend to sacrifice art quickly in order to churn out more chapters with less effort.

But, that is sadly the end to ...

Bleach is a series that is in a very awkward position in the manga community. It used to hold a large amount of prestige and popularity as one of the pillars of shounen manga, along with Naruto and One Piece. Naruto has since ended and One Piece is still going strong, with Bleach now finished as well. While sales of it in its later years were still quite good for a manga in general, it was a far cry from its original sales and it routinely tanked in the ratings in Shounen Jump until its conclusion.

The premise of Bleach is quite similar to Yu ...

At first I must say that the series created by Kubo Tite, which something around year ago really impressed me now became one of the biggest dissapointments in my life.
Well, the beginnings of the Bleach were nothing really great, but I still enjoyed it (know when I remember those Karakura School times I feel really nostalgic) and when the Soul Society Arc I was like "OMFG". There were great fights, I enjoyed even the trainings and especially Ichigo's power-ups and his hollofication. Enemies were great, the plot was also interesting. And in anime we could've heard the 'Number One' song many times during the most ...

Bleach is the spiritual successor to Saint Seiya as they have similar plot structures, story arcs and have pretty characters. The famous Soul Society arc has a similar set up to the Sanctuary arc as the main characters go to rescue an ally from a fraction the main lead suppose to be a part off. And the antagonists not necessary being evil beings but following orders.
Soul Society feels like the Samurai Era of Japan and the Sanctuary has elements of Ancient Greek. The enemies have rankings with Soul Society having low class Shinigami, Seated Officers and the Captains. Sanctuary has the Bronze Saints, Silver ...

I want to preface my review with the following: I really enjoyed the ride that Bleach took me on, for the most part. From the very beginning up until the end of Fake Karakura Town, I found great enjoyment, hype, and an engaging manga through Bleach. After the end of Fake Karakura Town, I believe the manga should have ended and if it did I would have given the review a solid 9/10 and would recommend it to anyone as a fantastic read. However, that is not the reality and as such I must assess the story, characters, and experience after that, which has left ...

5/10

This is my honest opinion, I am NOT being a contrarian just because this is one of the most famous manga.

- Cons
Bleach is mostly Boring. The manga is made up of 95% fighting, 5% training and SOL moments. This might be good for some people who prefer nothing but action, but this is such a major flaw. Because not only is the amount of fighting so skewed, the fights themselves are extremely boring and predictable. A large majority of the fights can be taken out of the manga and ZERO plot would be lost. Not only that, the fights follow an unbearable structure of ...

I have a love-hate relationship with Bleach.

It was my first anime ever, fourth-grade little me watching eyes-wide, the very first episode of the anime. It's what got me hooked onto anime in the first place.

And the world of Bleach is really something spectacular. The creativity behind all the Zanpakutos, the history of the Vizards, the evil behind Aizen--all of these are so well-crafted.

But the plot as a whole? Very one-dimensional.

STORY: It goes, arc after arc, about how Ichigo is weak, then becomes stronger. But by the next arc, he faces a bigger, badder boss, and needs to get stronger again.

ART: Good in still frames, but ...

Just tell me why, Tite Kubo. What a way to mess up with all.
Many Bleach fans have already seen the anime and the arcs animated as well. I think we all loved the Soul Society arc and the next ones were very good too. The biggest problem of Bleach were the insane powerups but the general quality was good...until we reach the Quincy Arc, the last arc and this manga's biggest mistake. I will talk about entirely about this arc in this review, while the rest of the manga has been valued to the overall score too.
The Quincy Arc started pretty good, with ...

7.5/10 for me, due to nostalgia. When I was 16, this was the shit. Soul Society was easily 10/10. Kubo is very talented but his pacing is all over the place. This is one of those series that should have ended much earlier, either at the end of Soul Society, or at the Farewell Swords chapter when Ichigo and Rukia said goodbye to each other after he lost his powers. Everything after SS just kept getting progressively worse before the series got axed. The ending was terrible, though I've definitely seen worse. I've kind of gotten over it as the years have gone by, but ...

Bleach is a fun read, but it is by no means a work of art. Strong points for the series include great characters, strong dialogue, and a finish that gives all of the (important) characters a strong send-off. Additionally, the series can be very funny at different times. It was very difficult to put the series down once I got to the second arc. Despite that, the series has a few obvious weaknesses. 1) There is very little character development throughout the entire series. 2) There are a lot of completely superfluous characters, and some genuinely fun characters feel underutilized. 3) It felt like Tite ...

I normally do love supernatural manga, but this story was a bit different. I thought the story line was tolerable, and not SUPER GREAT because you know what to expect will come next, it's almost like an endless cycle with small changes. The art was great, anatomy was very nice except for a few parts. The character development was awful, the creator left out perfectly good characters like Chad and emphasized attention on on the main character. Obviously the creator made the main character the strongest and ALWAYS prevails through a rough patch, making a lot of characters left in the trail of dust. ...

So here's my take on Bleach, before many people start bashing on me. Just note that this is my opinion, hence I'm justified to say what I think about the series, and I'm not inclined to praise a popular series if I don' like it.

Anyway, Bleach has been a staple manga among Shonen demography since it's release. Considered among one of the big 3 mangas along with Naruto and One Piece, Bleach has gained considerable amount of fanbase since it's debut. And I've to say I was one of those fans, but somewhere along the way I just stopped.

Story:

Bleach like almost any Shonen has a ...
