Just before anyone writes me off as another salty fan from Naruto I wanna give ya my opinion of what I ranked everything first.
When you add them all up and divide it out of 50 you get a .48. Out of 10, it would be a 4.8 in my book. Okay so, first of all, I wanna start off with the story now with reading the manga and watching the anime they have somewhat of a story; but what is the main goal here. How it begins is really rushed, *spoiler* you're placed in the middle of a
what seems to be a high intensive fight to then go back a few years. That wasn't necessary at all because the viewer/ reader (because the same they started with the manga) is now not gonna be surprised and it won't captivate the audience that well. Lately, they've just been filler episodes, these episodes aren't needed. Yes they aren't Dragon Ball Super, but how they started this was a movie as well, they could have followed up on the movie or redo the movie in more detail from the beginning, but all of these episodes have just been filler and a waste of time in my opinion due to you already know from the movie and it's a waste, if they want it so the audience can connect better with characters then why don't you do with using the movie as a stepping stool and having the viewers get to see the cast after the movie and engage with their ninja lives.
The art here is done very well and by the same people that have done Naruto and have only been improving so that's why I gave it an 8.
The sound isn't bad nor is it amazing, I gave it a 6 because it's mediocre. It's not terrible, nor is it amazing and have memorable tones.
Now the characters, this is a big issue in my opinion. I think the characters here are done very poorly and lazily. As other people might have mentioned that some of the characters are basically copies of their parents, that seems to be the case in most this show. I'm not saying it's bad to have people like their parents, but almost everyone acts like their parents. The three people I can name right now that don't would be: Sarada, Mistuki, and Metal Lee. Sarada has quirks from both of her parents but it feels like she's an actual character. When seeing the character Boruto it's like watching Naruto but without the flaws that Naruto had in the beginning. Mitsuki which is probably my favorite character in Boruto, you gradually see a personal growth with him and Sarada as the series has been progressing and I'm happy about that because they've finally written some characters that seem to have been made and not copied off Naruto. Now, Metal Lee, I haven't seen the change in him, but I am glad he's not completely like Rock Lee. When and if you watch Boruto you'll see a difference with him and I'm glad they've been steadily trying to make to characters different and interesting. Some of them aren't needed in the series at all and shouldn't have been written, sorry if I sound cruel but just there's no need for some of them and I wish they didn't waste time introducing them.
Enjoyment, I'm gonna say it's a 6, there are some moments I enjoy. I don't think it's the worst thing to ever be created; I just wish they presented it better, they have/ had a lot of potential. The arc they're in with the manga seems to be pretty good, just the problem is when they get there and executing it since I'm certain that a lot of Naruto fans aren't pleased with it.
Overall I say it's 5. It's not the best thing or worst thing. I do wish the writer was a little better WHICH IS UKYOU KODACHI NOT MASASHI KISHIMOTO, wrote this a little better and gave us better characters.
To anyone that wants to watch it and isn't a huge Naruto fan or has never watched Naruto I think you should give it a chance. To anyone that grew up with Naruto and hold it really dear, You will most likely be frustrated with the potential and what's happening to it, but eventually, you'll get over it and get used to it. Hope you enjoyed my review!
