| Most boring anime you've ever seen? Sonny Boy. Nothing interesting has happened, but I didn't give up on it. Usually if I watch something and it has an OP, I'm always able to recognize it, but Sonny Boy is the only exception for it. (some scenes were having small differences or haven't been included in all episodes and the characters themselves were wearing different clothes, even if it was the same scenes). I should give it a second chance by watching it in the chronological order instead of the broadcast order. (I didn't knew that there are 2 ways of watching it back then) |
| Tatami Galaxy I would normally never drop something so short but idk I just couldn't get past episode 3 I fell asleep in front of it which never happened with another anime and then the day after I tried to rewatch the episode and stopped half-way through because it was too boring |

Fucking Freien, I don't even understand why it's so overrated. With other overrated stuff I can at least see the "why". Like One Piece looks cool enough to hook people so I understand why it's so popular. Freien is one of the most generic isekai anime (don't give me shit that it technically isn't isekai) that some people have chosen to be some kind of personal idol. For fuck's sake it's not even truly popular, no one has heard of it outside of anime communities.
| @Captain-577 Freien's popularity seems manufactured by bots, there are so many botted 10/10 ratings and reviews to make it look good and popular. It's getting extremely little attention from places that don't specifically discuss anime, none of my mainstream friend know what it is. I suspect that the company or the anime studio is doing the botting themselves to boost the sales, the scale of the botting is too big for some fanboys to pull off. If that's the case then it's has to be one of the most scandalous case of self-promotion. |
| Man, there have been so many over the decades. They kind of smear together after a while and become a homogeneous lump. But I just finished the 3rd ep yesterday of City, and it has to be near the summit of boring pointlessness. And I loved Nichajou. I might give it another ep or two, but I highly suspect I'll be dropping it. With comedies, especially after 3, what you see is going to be what you continue to get. |
| Gintama and One Piece, the episodes were too long so both of them didn't make the list. If they had a good story and character development like the Naruto series I'm sure it wouldn't be boring. |

Maybe Shaman King. The characters were very generic and I don't remember the story having anything worth paying attention which made the overall show dull and due to its length it was hard to watch. Another one would be Dragon ball Super. This one was even worst than GT and I couldn't manage to finish it. Not far from this is the third season of Nanatsu no taizai. Unsightly animation and boring battles summarize it.

| @Lost_Viking I watched that movie as an adult after only seeing some parts of it as a child, and I somehow came away having felt nothing one way or another. I never thought it's possible for something to leave me so unaffected. |

| MOST boring? That's a slam dunk- Sosou No Frieren by a mile. A distant 2nd place for the many seasonal fantasy/isekaii I have watched, but most of those are 12 episodes long. When you drag on for 28 episodes doing little more than walking across the screen talking, introducing then dropping characters every few episodes, following no narrative direction at all and having no meaningful conclusion 100% takes the cake. |

| Folks are just naming any anime that they don't like... Assassination Classroom is the only anime that I genuinely felt was boring. Nothing about it was particularly bad, it just didn't excite me, not even the action heavy episodes. Which is ironic since the name of the series implies that it's somewhat intense, but it's really not. |
I can't believe how much I repressed my dislike of that anime. Zero jokes landed, I disliked all the characters, and more shocking, I've liked a different anime from the same creator and studio, in the same genre, same episode length and everything. It's not the first time I've had more or less the same thing happen, but it's so damn weird when it happens. |

| I don't recall the name of it, but it was a fantasy anime about a restaurant. I can find enjoyment in even the most uninteresting sounding premises, but I just could not finish the first episode of that show. I can sometimes watch Mushishi, but it's one of those shows you watch to relax and unwind rather than for entertainment. |

| Update: I just tried out 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother to watch more stuff from the 1970s and I had to drop it because it was like watching paint dry. It's now tied with Spirited Away. I'm not close-minded to 1970s anime: I enjoyed Rose of Versailles, the original Mobile Suit Gundam, Lupin III, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Space Battleship Yamato, Tomorrow's Joe, etc... but for some years (namely 1972 and 1976) it's difficult for me to find anything interesting. |

| The 4th Season of Osomatsu-san has been an extreme drag. Jokes are bad and far between, The only "slice of life" they choose to include are the most dull mundane stuff any other SOL would cut, and all the characters are lobotomized with none of their traits, so no no real conflicts or back-and-forth-s to make things interesting. If I wasn't a fan of the previous 3 seasons I would have dropped this like a rock. |
