| 1000/10 episode IT WAS SOOOO GOOOOOOD OMGGG THIS IS WHAT I WATCH KUSURIYA FOR OMGG Honestly when Jinshi screamed WHERE'S MAOMAO at that old lady i was a bit startled too lmao didn't expect it plus my speakers were maxed out BUT I LOVED IT???? The way he had to keep himself in check "you're the eunuch right now" lmaooo hilarious And then when he questioned the servant who was posing as Loulan, that was CRAZY OMG but now that i think about it, how he acted towards women in this episode is making him look not so good lmao BUT ITS FOR MAOMAO SO WE'LL (HAVE TO) LET IT SLIDE THIS TIMEEE. Like he's in LOVE love with her- HIT THAT RIHANNA "A MAN, A MAN, A MA-A-A-A-AN" SONG RN But Lakan's reaction.... "DADDY WILL SAVE YOUUU *BOOM*" oh my god if i haven't fallen from my chair laughing at that point, i never will. And the broken door and Lakan asking, no, BARGAINING in order to lower the price for fixing it, girl this is fucking hilarious!!! And all for our girl Maomao who's kidnapped but [currently] chilling, getting ready for a festival with her sneaky, lying, plotting, scheming, multiple identities bestie. Lmao i love it all, i started reading the novels too because there's just so much and i just couldn't wait tee hee. This season is fire, but the next one is gonna break shit, i tell you that |
| Such a masterpiece of an episode. I never knew Zuigetsu was that perceptive, being able to both smell Shenlü and immediately realize that she had a hand in the Maomao disappearance, as well as immediately understanding what Loulan’s been up to just from what Shenlü left on the grave. In addition to the way he yelled at Renpu, god. Chills, literal chills. Zuigetsu aside, I’m glad we finally got to see Lakan after all this time—he’s literally my favorite character in this anime. His reaction as soon as he realized his daughter had gone missing was the funniest thing ever, especially the facepalm Zuigetsu had upon realizing that the news had reached Lakan. Haha. Lakan aside, I loved Lahan’s debut. I’ve been waiting for him all this time because of how much people hype him up. I’m excited to see more of him, especially with how similar his vibe is to both his sister and his dad! |
| Damn this show is really rewarding my patience. I can't believe I didn't suspect Loulan pulling a Padme and being Shisui the whole time. It's so obvious in retrospect when looking at the character designs. |

| It is pretty evident that Loulan's clan are planning to overthrow the dynasty, and Jinshi is finally getting the wind of it. I believe there are three resons of Maomao's kidnapping. First is that she was too smart and outing plots against emperors bloodline, as well as starting to suspect Shisui and Suirei. Loulan's father, Shishou's primary plan probably was to guarantee that his bloodline inherits the throne. However, he now has to resort to plan B. Second is, Shishou extracted his beloved daughters before launching a civil war (the chinese classic). This can be the only reason to call Loulan away from the rear palace. Shisui might have convinced Suirei to kidnap Maomao for Maomao's safety because she's a friend (Xiaolan should be out of the rear palace before war as her term is soon to end) And finally, to use Maomao as a bargaining chip against Jinshi. He did make it obvious he was fond of her |

| Definitely one of the better episodes so far with so many things happening. - Gyouku-Yous pregnancy advancing rapidly - The old lady trying to poison herself after seeing Jinshis face and remembering her past - Loulans disappearance finally being noticed. - Jinshi growing more and more mad and has to consider accepting his royal status (which he so thoroughly rejects) in order to get things done - Lakan charging the rear palace and breaking the main gate - aaand oh boi, its Lahan! - His specialities are numbers just like Go and Shogi are for Lakan. Overall they seem to mix up the scenes of this arc a bit to keep up the tension which is totally fine for me and doesnt hurt the story. Next 1 or 2 eps are likely to be focused around Maomao again. This arc is on track to be very good until the end. |

| i think somebody's planning a rebellion and has been doing it for quite some time. with the help of foreign merchants/agents. the spy/assassin that kidnapped Maomao tried to off Jinshi the emperor's illegitimate half-brother and also orchestrated many of the other cases Maomao foiled. especially the cases involving unborn children of the Emperor. taking Maomao off the board will screw with Jinshi AND her daddy the 'smartest most successful' of the Emperor's strategists. plus, our smart lil lady won't be able to outfox (heh ;> heh <; heh!) any further plots if she is captured. the spy/assassin is obviously the daughter of the doctor who knocked up the 'court lady' and was banished from the palace. the doc is probably serving under Shishou the now absent high-concubine's daddy. said concubine/daughter is probably with the Emperor's child and once the dust settles her and the child will step forwards as the Dowager Empress and future Emperor (or if it is a girl she'll be married off to a suitable Emperor puppet). the other kids will be offed, all the concubines too, records burned and whatnot. leaving nobody of the Emperor's bloodline alive except for the lil fetus running away inside its mommy. |

| I Love when Jinshi gets all intense and serious about stuff. It kinda made me feel sad for him when he realised he looks just like the old emperor. we Finally got to see Lahan, but he was not really what I was expecting, I thought he would be smaller and with a more high pitched voice . Next episode will be pretty. We're almost caught up with the manga, I can't wait! |

| YIIPPPEEEE :} Gotta love an episode that mainly focuses on Jinshi!! This was a great episode with a lot happening and even more finally coming to light for us viewers. It was great to see how worried our poor boy is about Maomao, but also how he's got his thinking hat on and tryna find where she is. Also, how they are connecting everything about the late emperor that all happened in the first half of this season coming into importance now is so well written. |

| I love it when a character who's usually well-composed loses their shit. There's something magical about the hidden savagery. The ghost episode made me paid too much attention to the hair color and I basically spoiled myself lol |

If there are no new chaps of the manga released this month, by EP 20 (21 at most) the anime will officially caught up to the manga adaptation, and by EP 21 (22 at most) it will officially surpasses it (well, maybe 23, depending on how much they're going to cut from the source).

| @FiendishChan I think they are also trying to recruit Maomao to their side. When Suirei offered knowledge of the false death revival medicine, it was a bid for Maomao's alliance. It doesn't look like they are treating her roughly in the rebel town. |

| This was such a good episode, gosh! Jinshi was a beast! So Shisui is Loulan right? And, lots of gold and metal is going somewhere secretly? Is someone preparing for war/rebellion I wonder? Shishou perhaps? Things gotten even more interesting. I already crave for S3! |

| It's funny how most people in the palace panic and Mao doesn't give a fuck about being kidnapped and betrayed. She's really weird XD I'm waiting for some explanation of what they want from her or what they'll do with her because for now this ''kidnapping'' looks like a friendly outing. Did she even get her own room? Lakan playing doting daddy... I don't know, isn't it like 19 years too late for that. And suddenly Mao's stepbrother jumps out from somewhere. It turns out that Jinshi has a sister and Gaoshun has another child. These connections between everyone and everyone are getting a bit tiresome. |
