i went 25 episodes before dropping One Piece, which is my farthest for anything before dropping.
(in anime, but in TV it is The Walking Dead, dropped after 99 episodes of 45 min runtime TwT)

what is yours ? also what was the tipping point as in CAN'T BEAR IT ANYMORE ? do you follow the "3 episode" rule before dropping ?

I dropped Pokemon Journeys less than 10 episodes in because it became obvious by then that they were using hypebait episode titles and plots by playing off of nostalgia from the past series.

Percentage-wise, it'd be Keikenzumi na Kimi to, Keiken Zero na Ore ga, Otsukiai suru Hanashi.. The day that the last episode came out, I watched the episode before, finished it, then the final episode... I didn't watch it. Dropped it, since I grew sick of the low quality teen drama.

Numbers-wise, Kimagure Orange☆Road. Yeah, I wanted to like this one. I really tried to push past the parts I didn't like, but by episode 22 of 48, I just couldn't take it anymore. I put on episode 23, got maybe less than a minute past the OP, then put the anime away for good, dropping it. Edited my post here just to say that, yes, it feels bad man. It feels real bad giving up on this anime, but it's just so much good held back by so much bad.

Probably black clover for me. I was in the army at the time and in what little free time I had I needed something to take the edge off, ANYTHING! And black clover was the best I could find at the time, I didn't want to watch anything good cause I was not in a mood to enjoy it, it needed to be easily digestible slop, just watchable enough to not kill me. Idk, maybe I am dissing black clover a bit too hard, its honestly not THAT bad... But yeah, once I left the army the circumstances changed and so I didn't need it anymore. I did end up watching around 70 episodes in the end.

But actually, there is another series, that would be fairy tail. I don't remember how it happened exactly, I remember a lot of people were hyping it up as the new "big" shounen, and the artstyle was curiously very similar to one piece (in a way) which maybe gave me a false expectation that it was gonna be as good. I honestly never liked fairy tail, but somehow, I was self gaslighting myself that it wasn't so bad/ it would get good eventually. At one point I realized watching the show was literally like a chore for me, like it actually caused me physical discomfort. So I had this wild idea... how about not watching it? Lol, almost immediately it felt like a weight had been lifted, like I ripped out a parasyte from my intenstines or something. I don't know how in the world I grit my teeth for over 100 episodes watching that shit but I did. It was back at a time where I did not really drop shows for any reason. Prior to that I watched inuyasha another 100+ episode series that I low key hated but that one I actually finished, but nowadays I would definitely have dropped it much much sooner.

Bleach. I watched 250+ episodes before dropping it. I never got to the point where I totally hated it or anything, but I was just really ready to be done with it. I think I skipped at least one or two filler arcs, but I don’t really remember anymore, so I don’t know the exact number of episodes I actually watched. Whatever it was, it was too many.

I would have never started it in the first place if I knew how long it was going to be, but at the time, it was just another random anime I picked up to follow as a seasonal after the first episode aired, thinking it might be like 50ish episodes at most. The manga had only been running for a couple of years at that point, so there weren’t even any hints about how long it would be. I really regret spending so much time on this anime that I didn’t even finish.

I watched Bleach until like half the way then dropped it (that's like around 160 or 180 episodes) to later move to read the manga... Which I also dropped after finishing the defeat of Aizen

I genuinely got like 40 episodes into soul eater and damn near finished it but chrona sucks ass, and after a while I couldn't take his wining anymore. Only reason I tolerated it so long was because the first 20-25 episodes were really good and held up.

I also got 600 episodes into one piece before finally switching to the manga. It was better honestly.

19 episodes. I was only 5 episodes away from completing it (the anime was Penguindrum).

I very rarely drop things, and in some ways, I feel kinda bad since lots of people recommended it to me. But for some reason, everything about it seemed to annoy me and I just couldn't go any further. I felt like punching a hole through my laptop screen while watching it.

I did end up watching the movie edit (so I guess in that regard, I completed it) but my opinion didn't change.

I drop early than wasting my time nd invest that time in some other show. But if any show somehow manages to cross 5 or 7, I didn't drop any of them, at least till now. Also, I don't think there would be any difference, 'cuz I already watched almost big show like 100 or 100+ eps.

Gintama after 300ish episodes. I didn't laugh once but it was kinda watchable as a slice of life with quirky characters, until it started having too many serious arcs which weren't good either.

I got 10 episodes or there abouts into Witch Hunter Robin. This show moved at the slowest pace, finally something crazy happened, it finally peaked my interest.

And next episode reneged everything. Nobody died in that mass shootout I just watched.

Might as well have been the main character waking up from a crazy dream.

It was beyond disappointing.

(*watched together with a friend. While I've ruled out other anime for this reason, I'll make an exception because companionship and compromise were not the reasons I endured.)
[Completing the entire Zombieland saga and vowing never to watch a sequel doesn't count, does it? (12+12/24 EP) ]

"do you follow the "3 episode" rule before dropping ?" -
No. I watch until I have a feeling for the writing style and do not believe in the authors/producers ability to come up with something good later on. Usually 3-9 episodes.

I watched up to the 10th episode of the 3rd season of Tensura which is probably the 58th episode(I guess) the 1st season was really mid but I felt that there was some potential in this series then the 2nd season felt like a shitshow(especially that 2nd half). With all the hype around season 3, I thought I would give it a chance only to be slapped in the face by CEO board meetings. Still, I thought that all this boring crap should have a massive payoff considering all the hype created by the LN readers. Still, when I watched the so-called "payoff", it finally dawned upon me that the LN readers of Tensura were nothing more than a group of useless basement-dwelling morons who thought of themselves as the MC of this horribly written power fantasy.

@palm-tree I made it into the lower 300's. LOL. Not really bad, but after Aizen was gone, I was seriously fatigued by the whole series. Tried to pick it up a year or later on Adult Swim when they got past that point in the story, but found I couldn't.

@ame i mean with long shows ive heard are good i kinda just convince myself to push through even if im not having a great time like i watched 200 epiodes deep into one piece before i kinda liked it. since one piece is so long tho i did end up liking it by the time i caught up tho i dropped it at like 986 because the pacing was trash. as for finishing bleach i dropped it in the middle of the zanpakuto rebellion arc which is filler but i was gonna watch it anyway since i heard it was actually decent but i didnt like it but at the same time didnt feel like skipping it so i just dropped the show

I lost interest completely after the first 5 or so episodes. The last 7 was more, ehh I guess I might as well. I suppose the thing that made me make up my mind was having to deal with another one of the protag's pretentious monologue or something. Straw on the camel's back though.

Two anime.
There is a false legend of a second season of The Promised Neverland. I may have watched two episodes of this non anime before I left it alone. The info I heard afterwards guaranteed this non anime would remain unfinished.

I also watched Rurouni Kenshin as a kid and stopped after Makoto Shishio was dead. I found out later that the anime continued, but this was after I was older and knowledgeable about filler after watching Bleach and Naruto Shippuden. I will never finish Rurouni Kenshin.

They did a remake of Kenshin, and the only episode I watched was my favorite episode of the entire first anime. It didn't compare. No chills, no hype, no crazy animation. Trash music. I may watch the last season of this new anime since it adapts the last part of the manga. But it is highly unlikely.

Thinking about it now, I actually watched 103 episodes of Boruto. I was able to put up with it till they said the next episode was about Mitsuki adopting a cat. Instant drop. I wish they had done that type of thing earlier so I dropped the anime beforehand.

I don't know how many episodes of Dragon Ball Superheroes I watched. But any amount is too many.

@Serafos Damn, it's that bad? You're a pretty big Precure fan iirc, so to absolutely drop one.... I watched the first episode when it aired, didn't care for having a dog character, and didn't pursue it further. I intended to marathon it when the season came close to finishing but I'm not sure if I will.
