| While there are loli anime left and right; its counterpart, shota, is nonexistent to the point where there are more shota hentai than regular shota anime. I'm looking at the time gap between recent shota anime and it seems to be 3-4 years each until a new one: Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii (2014) Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san (2018) Megami-ryou no Ryoubo-kun (2021) Does people not like Ara-Ara and it's all just a meme? Or is Japan too obsessed with lolis? |

| Why would guys want to see shotas? They're even more annoying to listen to and makes less sense. They also would get in the way of a lot of scenes since almost every single shouta Doujin contains them being embraced (which would also be a common theme in regular anime shows) so all i see is the shotas back instead of the girl's titty which lowers the quality |

| As already mentioned, shota anime are targeted at women, stuff like Super Lovers and Shounen Maid, I guess. I would not put Sunohara and Goddess Dormitory in that category, or at least not without putting "straight" first, as in, "straight shota", the sub-genre of shota hentai targeted at men, which I agree there should be more of. |

| I think most men and teens can self insert as someone like Kazuma or Kirito over shotas. Shota is a niche fetish unlike loli since men are attracted to fertility and purity. Even women rarely select short guys or small dicks so shota fetish is not so common. |
